Any Radio Shack can do a regional search on their store computer for any item number, and with one phone call, can do a national search. I never heard of them and looked in the price list. The prices are incredible, so Im wondering if they are total garbage. $299 for a 35w 440 rig is pretty good, and $179 for a 440 HT is real good. They look pretty decent and modern in the pictures, so Im really wondering about them If anyone has any info, lemme know... 73 de KT4QF --- QuickBBS 2.76a Ovr * Origin: The Bear's Cave Titusville FL 407-383-9372 V34/VFC/H16 (1:374/73) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 188 HAM TECH Ref: DAQ00001 Date: 06/20/96 From: WAYNE SAROSI Time: 07:40pm \/To: MICKEY FERGUSON (Read 9 times) Subj: CushCraft ASL2010 ??? MF> Thanks, MF> Mickey, WA4KDC I have a home brew LPDA that is similar in size and coverage. Mine is ten element, 22 foot boom, gain is around 7.5dBd and I use a 4:1 balun. SWR is 1.3 to 1.8:1 across the entire BW of the antenna which covers 13.5 to 30 MHz. This is similar enough to the cushcraft for some info to you. I have had Yagis, wires, loops, quads and nothing touches the Log Periodic Dipole Array (LPDA) {LPA is short for the same}. It has the power of nearly a 3 element yagi and covers the said BW. One antenna. One item to care for. One coax. It's the way to go, IMHO. -WS --- * Origin: Editor HTL, Moderator HAM_TECH (Quick 1:374/73.2) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 188 HAM TECH Ref: DAQ00002 Date: 06/20/96 From: WAYNE SAROSI Time: 07:52pm \/To: CHARLES MCCURDY (Read 9 times) Subj: about the new tentec 6mtr In a message to All <19 Jun 96 2:01> Charles Mccurdy wrote: CM> Hi can any one tell me how well the new ten-tec 1209 2 to 6mtr CM> transverter works?
