I've done Belieze and it's very good, JG>but it's even better if you avoid the big diving tourist JG>trap at Ambergris Caye (sp?). I'll have to postpone the Belize trip this year and do a few trips to the Bahamas instead. I just bought a new townhouse, so all of my extra funds will go towards that. JG>I'm out here in sunny (and very dry) Tucson. Not much JG>diving unless you motor 6 hours to Mexico. I still get the Arizona diving magazine, and noticed that they've really been pushing San Diego, Catalina, etc. JG>What ever happened to our friend Cheryl from Canada? Did JG>she set up her dive boat? Just curious. I saw Cheryl down here in Ft. Lauderdale in late October when she came to the docks and visitied with me and Margie Nahas and Carl Wilson before we shoved off on our last Bahamas trip. Cheryl and Pearce (her SO) are still trying to purchase the sailboat of their dreams, and get everything setup for their charter boat business. I may bump into them at DEMA this weekend. --- Tanline inspector * Origin: [\] Diver Down BBS [\] Ft. I spent most of my time diving with the folks at the Tavernier Dive Center located just south of Key Largo. Some of you may have seen the recent issue of Rodale's Scuba Diving where TDC was awarded the #1 reader's choice as the best dive operation in North America. The wind slowed down and the trip out was an easy ride. We only did two dives but both were great as we managed to actually locate the reefs we wanted to dive on. The first dive was fourty five feet and vis was great at about twenty feet. Quite a few fish but not two many big ones for shootin. Triggers, snapper a bunch of small grouper and some tropicals. The second dive put us on some real nice fish, we got a variety, that will be enjoyed. The water temp was a refreshing sixty three degrees, we used a full suit, farmer john type, and to supplement body heat brought along a three gallon cooler of hot water. I guess that last statement shows the WWW status, and next time we wil be bringing five gallons. --- OLX 2.1 TD Press any key to continue or any other key to quit --- GEcho/2 1.20/Pro * Origin: The 128th Parallel Seminole,Fl 28.8k 813/397-1339 (1:3603/210) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 186 SCUBA Ref: E1H00000 Date: 01/11/97 From: DAMIAN BOLTON Time: 09:32am \/To: ALL (Read 1 times) Subj: Scuba Sites Hello All. G'Day Damian, Welcome to "The Net". > Does anyone know of any good Scuba diving sites > along the northern beaches in Sydney, Aussie ? There's a couple of good ones... South Palm Beach and Harboard. I carry some Scuba related files and dive maps on my BBS (OzWorld), phone number is (+612) 9891 1886. I don't dive the North side much, primarily because if a "Southerly" comes up they blow out and the only alternative (which isn't much of an alternative) is Shelly Beach. The diving is much better on the South side:-) I can show you some great spots there! Keep Bublin' Terry. P.S.
