I'm getting ready to come down to Florida. I'm working on my dives right now. My truck is in the shop getting checked over right now. I'm supposed to get it back either today or tomorrow. I can hit the warm water again. It definitely beats water at only 45 degrees. I haven't dove in the ocean to many times. Most of my dives are in lakes or quarries in PA. The ocean will be new to me. I should arrive sometime on the 17th. I'd like to get a couple more dives in before the class starts. Colin said that I would be able to go out on the boat. Maybe you and I could get together and you could show me a couple spots. Well, I guess I'll talk to you later. Have a good one!!! I was wondering if you pull the Internet Newsgroup on Scuba Diving too? I'm just about to drop FIDO, as I'm going to be offering Internet Access off my board. Steve! Didn't get over to Fort Lauderdale this past winter...had hoped to drop in and see you... The three months spent at our place in Naples was not the best of times with the "Red Tide". Spent little time at the beach. A lot of respiratory problems, many wore masks.Public told if living on the beach ...keep windows closed and AC on, the same with cars when driving along the beach road. The last time I saw that many dead fish washed up on shore was on the West coast after an oil spill. Five people in Hospital in one week stepping on dead fish and have dorsal spines removed. Over 70 Mantatee washed up in just over one month. It was not a good holiday for many of the kids on Spring Break or for the Ol' Snow Birds (like us) (g). Was there anything your way?? Haven't checked out with friends up Panama City Beach way. I understand this can occur once evry five years. I read many of your msgs in the Scuba Echo, those I find of interest pass to our son, who was CPO1 with the Fleet Diving Unit now Director for Diving Safety for the Canadian Forces. --- * OFFLINE 1.54 * ... You know you've arrived when you become a thread line :-) Am going to South Ocean Hotel on New Providence Island, Bahamas. Will be there from Monday April 22 to Saturday April 27, 1995. On that Saturday, I will be coming back through Ft. Lauderdale, and if I have a layover will voice Steve Elliot to see if he is dry that day and wants to wet up the inside instead of the out. I will be diving with Stuart Cove. Not my favorite, since I had a middlin' experience with them 2 years ago, but the trip was a package gift to me from a family where a couple of the kids took certification this winter and wanted to dive with me. I have been communicating with Stuart Cove's Lauderdale office by Internet, and have been impressed with their technology on this end. I hope that upgrade is reflected in their operation on the island. Carl, there is a 1,000 to 1 shot that I might be able to make the Safari trip in May. Since Kurt is advertising it here, I guess there is room. If it happens, I'll meet you at the dock. :-) So, when in late July are we diving at your new summer home?
