The only difference I ever noticed was when I got low on air, it got more difficult to breath. Since this was pre-guage days, this was a big plus for me. A skin is recommended to keep you off the fire coral, etc., but you won't need much of any thermal protection unless you get cold easily. Even then, you won't need much. It's bragging rights to have 700 psi when the rest have 500 or lower. The most air remaining shows breathing control and experience. Sounds like a good idea. The only real cave dive I have around my area is the "infamous" JACOB's WELL and I don't plan on a return trip unless it is a recovery.
