MN>I'm looking for recommendations for dive operations and/or MN>places to stay in Cozumel (diver friendly, of course!). MN>Also would like info on the weather and diving conditions for MN>the month of October. Margie, I stayed at the Galapogoes Inn, they have a nice hotel, decent food package and the dive operation is in house. However, they only do a two tank dive per day. All the resorts/hotels that are near the town of San Miguel are about 25-45 minutes from the best diving reefs. I have saw an add or two for some new places closer to the reefs, but then again, they are a fair distance from the town. From the Galapagoes Inn, it is about a 20 minute walk into town. When I was in Cozumel, the cruise boats unloaded passengers and the town was like a bee hive from 9:00 Am to 5:00 PM when the passengers departed to their cruise liners. Also, all the diving in Cozumel is drift diving, and it is often difficult to stop unless one gets behind a corral head or something to break the current.
