Well, by looking at the number standing on the title today, I am pretty sure that the title will see #500, but soon afterwards I anticipate that it will have the same re-boot that Captain America, Ironman, The Fantastic Four, The Avengers, and Thor went through. I don't know where the next writer of the series will take the character, but I think that Hulk could support a second series, so I would option for perhaps a sister title to make a jump-on point for new readers. --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: EVERGREEN ONE,Cashmere Wa.ZyXel 2864 28.8 (509) 782-4259 1:344/91) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 101 COMICS Ref: F4200039 Date: 03/28/98 From: DAVID BLOCKER Time: 08:26pm \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: Stung by The Green Hornet I really do miss The Green Hornet! Since NOW COMICS went under, we haven't seen The Green Hornet since. I strongly anticipated that this would be the case, because how many other publishers tried to grab the Hornet before NOW COMICS obtain him (and Kato)? Ocean Comics were going to publish the character, but they have already gone under before they could get started. DC COMICS was offered, and they were interested in giving him a DC spin but for some reason had to decline. I think TOPPS COMICS (assuming they still have the rights to The Lone Ranger) and/or BLACK HORSE would be considerable homes for the Green Clad Outlaw. If DC got the character, well we seen how well they do with liscense characters, and they turn out to be very temporary, i.e. The Phantom, Flash Gordon, The Shadow, Justice Inc., and the list goes on! Yeah, DARK HORSE would be the Ideal place for the Green Guy. I read most of the manga that DD> Viz and Dark Horse has been publishing, as well as the MixxZine. I don't know since I usually read Chinese translations which is more close in translation to the original Japanese. Otherwise, I'd usually watch the English versions of the animes as the voice dubbing in the Chinese versions are horrible. DD> I've even tried some of the untranslated series such as Marmalade DD> Boy and a little of DNA2. I've heard of Marmalade Boy: The movie. I tried DNA2 but only read the beginning. The creator of that book is perverted as his main charaters seem to do the same expression after having stuck to the girl's buttocks. The VIZ reprinting here is on its 7th chapter, so it should still run for 3 or 4 more years. Now, it would be more like the GREAT,great grandsons of both the ranger & tonto.
