They should invent an outdialing system that delivers a voice message to the correct party, say John Doe, by announcing the call is for him. If he is in press #, and the system will wait, while repeating if this is John Doe press 77 to get your message, then deliver it. If it got a fax machine then it will automatically pull the fax message and send it out. If answering machine it can wait for the beep tone, then deliver a message. There is something called Wildfire that is used by the Hollywood stars, and is very effective for reducing teletag, 75% of our lives spent on that. --- VFIDO 6.20.00 Gamma Candidate 1 * Origin: Asia America BBS (1:102/774) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 184 HOME OFFICE Ref: E4J00002 Date: 04/14/97 From: CHRISTOPHER GREAVES Time: 05:53am \/To: ALL (Read 2 times) Subj: profit-sharing I'm staring at an option to enter into a profit-sharing arrangement with a businessman. Basically, he provides the cash and premises and eqipment and I provide the direction. It's a trainer's dream come true! The area is my speciality - desktop training - and I am to get a pretty free reign in setting out the product, guiding the salesman etc. However, I have absolutely *no* experience in defining on paper how a profit-sharing arrangement works and would appreciate some filtered-down wisdom. At our previous meeting I tabled a "$500 per month retainer" proposal document, and given the anticipated six months before the venture might show a profit, proposed that a $100/hour fee be paid monthly as an advance on my side of the profits. I figure that as long as I'm being paid hourly rate until the profits have materialised (and been evident for a while), I can't lose. Thanks in advance for any hints, suggestions or tips. Proper record-keeping is _essential_ for That was excellent business advice. I made a print out of it thank you! There are hidden and serious problems with family business, usually husband and wife teams and with the strong headed females or even males, if one does not assume the "Boss" position and take the bull by the horns, soon it will be anarchy. Come tax time on will know. Come Tax audit and you will go under fast. Many a firm has been killed by tax audits it is both humiliating and failure to be found in error all over the place and can't explain what the shxxt went wrong. Nothing really bad happened but then no good either. I think a good discussion should come from talking about how to maintain order and a system when doing a home business, which is like a family business. Talking about it honestly will help, keeping it to yourself makes things worse if no remedy in sight. Good show and a quality email at that. The come in all flavors and features, and seem to be dominated by the all powerful Motorola, as I hardly see any other brands around. It is the poorman's cellular phone. Now come prices and service. The worse case, is to inherit a beeper number from the hottest hooker in town, or some emergency service number. Excluding that, the fees vary, and seem to have come to a time volume rate scheddule here in L.A. meaning the rates go by 100 pages a month $6.95, and up as the number of calls go up. This is strictly for the plain beeper, I presume the alphnumeric message types cost more. Then there are activation charges, anywhere from $21-$30.00 one time fee. I'm thinking of getting a basic 10 mem, one called Renegade, any pros or cons to this? Regards, Bob --- VFIDO 6.20.00 Gamma Candidate 1 * Origin: Asia America BBS (1:102/774)
