I talked with them by telephone, they mailed me some forms to complete, and that was about it. MF> I agree, but how many programs are available for OS/2? Think of MF> all the programs you use in a day, and how many are available for MF> OS/2? (Yes, OS/2 can run it's own stuff, plus DOS, and Windows 3.1, MF> but not 95!) MF> MF> The number one concern is choosing the application you need to get MF> the job done. Then tied for second place is the platform (PC/Mac) Your point is one most should read very carefully. Choose the application that "you need to get the job done". I still use a lot of software that is long out of print, but it still serves its purpose. I have also picked up a lot of VERY cheap software (like Corel Draw 3) instead of getting "the latest and greatest". For a small budget office (home office), it makes far more sense to explore what is needed by YOU, rather than what the software companies TELL YOU you need. Case in point is Windows 95. I got 3.1 for free with my machine, and any apps I have for Windows are 3.1 apps. Now, to upgrade the machine I use, plus all the software would probably run me in the $5000 area. I can't honestly believe the work I do with it would be "better". So the bottom line is always the main interest. ...
