I dont know about any in your area, but when I was opperating my old business, I used a company here called Arizona Sales Leads. They were able to put togather almost any kind of list for a fairly resonable fee. I am a person who does Fax Advertising. Why? To make a living. I called the FCC to get the rules on fax advertising and either I did not understand them or their is some basic misunderstandings on penalties for violation there of. The receiver of the fax has to notify the sender who has to have his name and telephone number on the fax that he no longer wants to receive the fax. The sender is then required by the FCC to keep a log of those people requesting not to be faxed to. If the sender violates that FCC rule, the receiver of the unwanted fax came sue for his damages. Not $500 dollars. The $500 is a penalty levied by the FCC as I understand it. I have never sent a fax to anyone who has requested that I not do so. I was doing this before the FCC ruling. I did not want to cause any ill will that could cause my faxing client any ill will. I, also have never paid for a fax number or bought a data base on CD or what ever. Every number that I have in my data base was given to me by the business. If a fax number is listed in the Yellow Pages, it is, in my opinion, okay to fax to that number until tolf not to do so. Fax advertising is a business with a limited life. People who hate fax advertising so much should buy a computer. That will give the ability to stop the expense of fax paper and never miss a fax again because the machine was out of paper. Chill out and let people make a legitimate living. --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: New Orleans P.C. Businesses should have to buy a computer just to keep from having a self-serving FAX advertiser send unsolicited FAXs to them??? hmmmmm..... I beg to differ! If you had an office and a parking lot, would you want your competitor filling up the lot outside? If you had a waiting room, would you want someone coming in and taking up chairs, and then telling you that you ought to expand the size of your waiting room and buy more chairs? No?? How welcome are junk FAXs at your office? Think about it... I have a FAX machine here so that *I* can have the use of it when I need it. I buy the paper supplies so that I can get the FAXs I need and want. When you send an unsolicited FAX, you tie up my machine so my legitimate customers cannot use it, I cannot use it, and by the time it's free, the paper has been used to print your garbage. If you're going to send FAXs, at least attach your credit card number so that I can apply an appropriate charge for the time and supplies you've "stolen" from me. FAX advertising will have a limited life only because of the abuse some individuals have chosen to use it for. Think about it.
