I got into prog through SH> Marillion, who I still rank as just about my favourite band, and also SH> like Jethro Tull, Fish, Pink Floyd, and Rush (even though I don't think SH> Rush are very prog). I'm currently searching for early Genesis and Yes SH> stuff, but it's on hold atm until I go back to work next week. Some If you need suggestions for those two bands, any of the Genesis albums from 1970 through 1977 are well worth getting. My favorite of those would be _A Trick of The Tail_ ('76), _Nursery Cryme_ ('71), and _Foxtrot_ ('72). For Yes, try _The Yes Album_, _Fragile_, _Close To The Edge_, and _Relayer_ for starters. There are a bunch of incredible bands to try out. Stay tuned to this echo. Where does Jack the Lad fit in all this? I bought a fantastic Prog folk album called _Swaddling Songs_ by a band called Mellow Candle. Have you heard this? There are two female vocalists who play off one another, and the band is excellent anyway. It's fantastic stuff. Also, Stuart got a CD by a pretty cool Prog Folk band called Broselmaschine (sp?), a German band. I may have to get this one myself. It's not as emotional as Mellow Candle and is a little more subdued, but I like it. NP: "Times Have Changed" -- Supertramp (I'm glad I pulled this out again.
