We find it more stimulaxing to ask why people aren't talking about stuff than to actually talk about stuff. Then we argue about what is or isn't on topic for a while since we don't really have anything interesting to say about either category... But I have come across Xaal's _On The Way (En Chemin)_ CD recently. It seems like pretty good instrumental gtr-bs-dm trio proggy stuff. Is this Zuehl? Zuehlish? MB> i left fidonet near the end of 1996, & i'm back. but lots of people MB> seem to have left meanwhile... Nice to see you back. Fidonet has left lots of people, rather than vice versa, I think. So, what about RIO? Is it a musical movement or merely a political one? Can you be Zuehl if you don't speak French? Le Vieux Chasseur de Fromage ... Fido went through a period of re-adjustment oover the past year and as a result sosme of the older and more hardcore proggers lot their access, including the two moderators (I'm filling in for them temporarily til they get back). Fido is still re-adjusting and I think we'll see more people such as yourself coming back. In the meantime we've been joined by many new people who mostly tend to be into the less obscure prog bands and the echo is sort of finding its own direction. There's still enough people though that we should be able to whip up a good RIO or Zeuhl discussion around here. Lately I've been mainly listening to Italian bands and prog "classics" in quad. KN> KN> Lately I've been mainly listening to Italian bands and KN> prog "classics" in quad. How boutju, Matju? I don't know much about RIO or Zeuhl, but I'll give a small mention of the two most recent things I've purchased. Camel _Harbour of Tears_: Heavily influnced by Irish folk music, with some smoooooth guitar. I really like this album. Not at all heavy, it kind of just "floats" in your ears. Very peacful, with some wonderfully blusey guitar by Andrew Latimer. Highly recommended! Magellan _Test Of Wills_: Quite the opposite. Now, don't get me wrong, I like their other album that I have, _Impending Ascension_, but I just can't stomach this new one. There is no grace, no subtlety, just a heck of a lot of noise. Now I've only listened to it twice, but I'm not sure if I can take it once more. Not that it's really all that harsh, but it's just missing...something. I dunno. Maybe it will grow on me at some point...assuming I give it another chance. Frank ... Show me kindness, show me beauty, show me truth. --- Blue Wave v2.12 [NR] * Origin: Chivalry IS alive!
