I don't recall HA> ever hearing Jimi Hendrix play a classical guitar, but the man was a god HA> when it came to making his left handed Stratocaster sing. So is that HA> saying that he hasn't any talent? I surely think not. Just a different HA> style of playing. If you ever heard the Curtis Knight album that was Jimi played on before the Jimi Hendix Experience, you'd hear just how good a technical craftsman Hendirx was. He played the way he played because he WANTED to, not because cranking up the volume was the only thing he knew how to do. I also recall seeing Hendrix on some old documentaries noodling around on an accoustic guitar. Though he never actually sat down with one in a recording studio, what little I heard him play on an accoustic guitar indicates that he could have been just as creative "unplugged". * OLX 2.1 TD * Karaoke: Japanese for "tone-deaf drunk with a microphone" --- RG0511/CDRMAIL 1.06b * Origin: LOTL/2 * 412 746 3592 * lotl2.slip.lm.com * USofA (1:129/230) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 182 60'S 70'S ROCK Ref: E2F00006Date: 02/08/97 From: FRANK SWARBRICK Time: 10:00pm \/To: BOB DUNN (Read 1 times) Subj: Beatles Rule! Check out the Art Bears doing Bertolt Brecht's "On Suicide" which captures it perfectly. Only don't listen when you're in a low mood. For that matter, Steeleye Span did a really good version of "The Black Freighter." Oh, what the heck, let's admit it, Bobby Darin did a pretty cool "Mack the Knife."
