You did well. But I remain untouched. heh heh I guess I am indeed a traditionally-minded theorist. So, if you believe in resolving dissonance, what is the chord after the Am in your song? How did you resolve that? Oh...you ought to like this...my best friend and I were listening to some Phish songs yesterday. "David Bowie," "It's the Ice," and "Eliza." I had to admit that they did some nice progressive exploring, BUT...their music, alas, falls outside the boundaries of "sound theory." The end of "Bowie," especially, just abandons its tonal center completely. You know what I'm saying? Free form, even, still needs a tonal "anchor." As for Gentle Giant, you're probably thinking of "The House, The Street, The Room". This is off of their second album, _Acquiring the Taste_. If you like that song, you should like the rest of that album. Other good ones to look into in my opinion, are _Gentle Giant_ (their first), _Octopus_ (their fourth), and _Three Friends_ (their third). After that, the quality of their albums really dropped IMO, although most people here say the next album or two is still good. _Free Hand_ seems to be highly recommended by many, although I personally don't like it. ...
