Renaissance - originally formed with 2 members of the Yardbyrds who later bowed out(?). My favorite track of theirs is "Mother Russia." I always thought they where on the very low side of Prog-rock, lacking in intrumental virtuosity, but being of a prog-rock style, a category the Moody Blues also fit nicely into. I never liked 'em much. -.\\. --- * OLX 2.1 TD * Power Windows! BBS. FS>Can't imagine finding this disappointing. I did have very high expectations and payed a lot for these. FS> The first album is utterly brilliant. Especially the guitar heavy FS> "Make You Die, Your Brain" and the sax heavy "Kouenji, Memories In FS> The Rain" (along with it's blistering guitar solo). This is one FS> album that I loved upon first listen, and have yet to tire of. Not in my case. It took a lot of time. But I must agree that the guitar gets pretty intense and hard to resist. That's the first thing that got me. I must also say that it gets better with every listen - and that's a good sign. FS> The second album I found quite disappointing upon my first few FS> listens, but I've grown to like it quite well. Jazzier, while the FS> first is bluesier. Originaly, I liked a bit more than the other one, simply because it seemed to cover more ground. Jazzier vs Bluesier ? Makes sense, and could explain a few things. I listen to far more jazz fusion than blues. Also explains why I don't care much for the sax player. Sure he can burn and blister but doesn't seem to be able to reach that level while improvising on a definite theme. Anyways, I kept both and they are growing on me. So, I am still a bit disapointed but not enough to sell them to a friend who offered to pay what I did for them ;) Regards, Paul C. ___ X CmpQwk #UNREGX UNREGISTERED EVALUATION COPY --- Maximus 2.02 * Origin: The Cybernetic Jungle.
