I've solved this once by supplying a .pif file for that dos program. In the properties I checked the option to close the window after the program ends. I then Shelled to the .pif file, using the option to run minimized and the program ran almost invisible (except for the taskbar). ___ __ __ Happy programming, / | / /__/ / ___/ /| |/ ___ / Jigal. /____/ |___/ /_/ --- Terminate 4.00/Pro * Origin: Point 2 is a point too at Revolution Ballroom (2:281/721.2) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 178 VISUAL BASIC Ref: EAM00010 Date: 06/16/97 From: RALF THANNER Time: 01:02am \/To: BUCKY CARR (Read 6 times) Subj: Re^2: MORE EFFICIENT Hallo Bucky ! Modern database development suites allow to perform the first two design steps together. Therefore the difference between these two steps is today a more theoretic one. The second reason for the "theoretically" is that a lot of people also never heard about entities, relations and data models and are still designing working databases (like Bucky :-). Hello All, First, I am sorry that I wrote in this area, but my bbs does not take EXCEL or MS.OFFICE. area (if there is?) I have a problem. In Excel (not version 7.0, if it is important) I want search cells for given values. For example, in A column there are values which will be searched, and these values' format are 440.16TP0.11010 or 403.10000.10010 or 418.23OR0.Z1010 etc. as you understood, they are stock codes. But these stock codes are searched without using a MACRO. For example, In column B, there may be a "IF" condition, as I tried. My unseccessful trail's IF, like this: IF(A1="440.*",C1,0) or IF(A1="440.",C1,0) meanwhile, C column consists material cost. But, it didn't work. After I tried to use it with FIND or SEARCH command, like this: IF(SEARCH("440.";A1;1),C1,0) , at this time, this condition could find the cells which start with `440.` string but others went to VALUE# and I stucked. Beacuse, my purpose was to find the value of particular materials, which start with a group code, like "440." So, pleas show me a solution how I find the given cells and their values, without using MACRO or FILTRE.
