It clearly drop, the seep indicator show 1200. An even in the setup was modify. But worst than that... I just receive the 4.21 from you. Since a 2 weeks, the problem occurd 2 times but this time at 4800 cps. Still, the speed menu show 4800. After the first encounter of the programm, i deseable the autodetect feature... but then the problem reoccured a second time. The two times, I re-save the setup. Very easy to solve. Instead of typing tm at the prompt type tm /t This will take you straight to the terminal screen. I think it tells you this procedure in the manual, which I think is telemate.doc or telemate.txt, but I haven't looked. I tried it just before doing this e-mail, and it does work. JM> JM> |\_/| JM> | c | John McLachlan JM> +-+ +-- Brisbane, Qld, Australia Not even a G'day from ya? Well, greetings from Florida. I use the Dos version right now, but have been trying out the Windows version. It seems the Setdial and Dial commands are not supported in the Windows version. Otherwise, the scripts that I have moved over to TM for Windows seem to work fine. I did see a comment from Winfred to another user that those would be implemented in a later version of TMW. Let's look at reality, not too far down the road, DOS is gonna die, and eventually, we all will run some version of Windows NT made to look like Win 95 and when that day comes, DOS programs will no longer run under whatever that operating system is called. I have heard as soon as sometime in 1997, an operating system based on NT and Win 95 will appear and at that point many of us will have to make the decision to go forward, or stay with Win 95 for a while. But software manufacturer's are moving that way and after all or most are writing 32 bit code that will run under Win 95 or NT, you and I won't be getting updates or new programs that will run under DOS anymore. At that point, Bill Gates will have accomplished his goal of killing off DOS which was his baby to start with. This is why I am making a real attempt to get fully checked out using Windows based programs. The nice feature of scripts under TM for DOS is once started, they can take care of the dialing, logging on, a variety of tasks and log you off. This is not possible using TMW yet. Hopefully soon. *See ya 'round the system, Tom* --- FMail/386 1.02 * Origin: Software Heaven (813) 653-0431 (1:377/41) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 177 TELEMATE Ref: D2XG2257 Date: 02/28/96 From: EARL LACURE Time: 12:37pm \/To: ALL (Read 7 times) Subj: WINFRED HU Well, that's interesting, when I tried to send Winfred a message regarding a problem with Telemate 4.21, the system reported that his account has expired, and the message "would not be went to him."
