I use Telemate 4.20 now, and haven't had a problem with ZModem. Only }bug I've found is the annoying one where the DOS Window always clears the }screen apon return, but that's it. Oh yeah, and it doesn't always display }bright foreground colors on colored backgrounds for some reason. Dunno why. }But those are minor. File transfers seem to work fine. BS} SA> So you are an OS/2 user? BS} I have used it and like it. I don't have it installed on my current PC, b t }that is changing very soon. OS/2 is certainly better then Windows95 (I don' }even want to talk about Win 3.x). WinNT's main advantage is stability, ut }it's system resource requirements aren't even funny anymore. OS/2 strikes a }good balance. I've seen better (AmigaDOS, PC/GEOS), but support for those }sort of things is completely non-existent. Lastly, I dislike MicroSoft in }general, so OS/2 it is. :) BS} While we're at it. To All: Anyone know of a good, native WPS term progra }for OS/2? I highly doubt there is something as good as Telemate, but when }you're under OS/2, Telemate's built-in multi-threading and editor lose a lot }of the appeal they have under DOS. I haven't played with OS/2 for }telecommunications much (yet :). I am also a TM user, had to take off OS/2 because of things, like drive space, games and other things. As soon as I get a 2.2GB drive, then Os/2 and all the other things will too. Dual Boot and more. Livewire 3.0 for the WPS is out, and available to anyone. Really well made, and I hope that Winfred looks at it as it will really put a cramp on TM DOS and Win, so hope that you can find it. I have it, and will be installing it as soon as the above happens. TM will work under OS/2 but change the settings it says and not the CFG file. It seems to corrupt it or something when you do, but the IDLE Sensitivity to 1 works just fine. I know that the internal protocols can have as many files as I tag but what about external protocols. I need some help. I downloaded TMW100 and got the program alone with no DOC at all. I have installed it in both Windows 3.11 and Windows95. It runs fine in Windows 3.11 but I can't get it to find the Modem at all in W95. I am using a GVC 14400 and have had no trouble at all. Under Wind 3.11 it find the Modem as a Rochester 14.4 but won't find anything at all in Win95. I entered the Dial up string from Wind 3.11 in the INI file for Win95, no luck. Am I missing something. I have learned a lot from you guys over the last couple of years, just reading your mail, Thax a lt. I can use anything you can do for me. I renamed the Telemate *.DOC files with a "_" as the first char so they show up first in the picklist, and put them in the default dir that the Telemate internal Editor and Viewer point to. Then a quick "Alt-V", "TAB", followed by "F4" and I'm searching for whatever I'm interested in. Then "F5" for repeat searches. Extremely quick once you've done it a few times. Works online, offline, and during file transfers. Haven't had to use the TMDos internal help system yet! DB> As it is, I have to hop out of TM and go to a word processor to get DB> any use at all from what documentation is provided. Completely unnecessary unless you're shelled out to DOS or running an external protocol, making TM's internal multithreading unavailable. But then the internal help system is unavailable also. If you want to edit/annotate/customize the *.DOC files for some reason, just use the internal Editor instead of the Viewer. TM's internal editor has always been one of my favourite parts of the program. Why other terminal programs don't have such a tool, I can't say!
