I am using 1MB of video ram I use the 8414 Terminal font. I have never had a GPF. After your note , I discovered that 38400 is much more stable, as you indicated. A good setup string for the ZOOM V.FC 28.8 is: AT&F&W&W1 - preparation , return to factory defaults AT&C1&D2W1%C3%E2S7=90S11=55S95=47S0=0 - changes from &F AT&W&W1 - write settings to NVRAM Init. string - ATZ For this modem I use a DTE with TMDOS of 115200 with no problems. I also use AT&Y1 (use stored profile 2 on powerup) just in case a software does a &W to me. I can reset easily by ATZ1&W. It would be nice to have the default terminal reset after each call, or after each NO CARRIER message. It would be nice to have an internal DELETE FILE option. Also, it would be nice to be able to set the Foreground/Background TimeSlice internally just for TMW. Perhaps you could either create or include an appropriate Windows comm driver, compatible with TMW and fax programs, with appropriate controls. I think that would solve a lot of problems for less experienced people. The setup routine could offer to install it. It could also offer to adjust SYSTEM.INI if needed, per your instructions at the end of TELEMATE.TXT for DOS. I find that if I try to open a note file from the Dialing directory which is in any other directory than the setup one, even though the file manager will let me select it, it will not load. This also happens in the editor. It would be nice to be able to use another extension for note files, such as .NOT, by an options menu entry. This would be nice for every default extension. It would be nice to be able to toggle the echo and line feeds during a call without having to change a basic setup, as well as hosting a chat. Perhaps this could be both on the Terminal Menu and the Terminal mouse menu, as well as in a keyboard short cut. If nothing else, a script option such as the DOS command in TM DOS to permit calling a .BAT file or .PIF to be used after a logoff to process files. Now I do this by including a PIF on my TOOLS menu. When I logon to a particular BBS I find some ANSI code at the prompt. It is not there when I logon with TM-DOS. I am running sound files to announce a CONNECT and NO CARRIER. The ANSI codes that I see on the screen are: [7;24R Below is a portion of the script where the problem occurs: Set AutoStop, On Waitfor 0 ; wait until string matched Waitfor "Otherwise type ""new"": " Put "^&^M" The characters can be backspaced out and the correct name entered. The only fix I have now is to PUT 6 Backspaces,[ PUT "^H^H^H^H^H^H"] then WAITFOR the prompt again. This uses up one of the three logon attempts. Any help is welcome; perhaps it is a TMW glitch. * OLX 2.1 TD * InterNet-lawton.smith@wormhole-ii.whb.org --- Maximus/2 3.00 * Origin: Wormhole II * 802-626-8809 * Lyndonville, VT (1:325/802) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 177 TELEMATE Ref: CEW00000 Date: 10/25/95 From: CAREY BLOODWORTH Time: 10:19pm \/To: GORDON VANSCHEIK (Read 8 times) Subj: TMW100 GV> Actually, WIN 95 is significantly more powerful than any version of GV> Windows except NT.
