I am beginning to think that a lack of a Video Enhancing Bus (most of those who have reported this problem have been running 386s) has a lot to do with those who are experiencing jerky screen writes. Got 4.20 the day it came out, used on 3 modems (9600, 14k4, & now 28k8) no problems & 3200+ cps on a good 28k8 connect. ... BTW, I have a great little utility that sorts out the TM.USE file into BBS, files, & date. A companion to TMSTAT.EXE. ... Thanks for the reply, Will, but I was under the impression that PIFs are only used when Windows executes a DOS program. I didn't think a PIF had any effect on a native Windows application. Have I been wrong all this time? Since my complaints seem to be echoed by many TMW users (unless, of course, you talk to Gordon), maybe I'll just sit back, read the conference, and wait for TMW 1.whatever to arrive. ... Any hints? In MB> advance, > thanks for your help. You may have already thought of this, but are you using your terminal set at 24 lines or 43/52 lines? It does make a difference in font appearances. I used the Courier New that was in the choices box and it looks fine on my 486/33 w 1MB of video memory. Only problem I have had and I have figured out from reading here, when you set to 14 pts. the display alignment can get a bit off, works fine with 12 pts. I used 14pt when using Lynx on my internet shell account, so far that is the only glitch I have had and it only occurred using Lynx for www browsing.
