Second, it seems very slow when uploading... are there any settings I should check? Lastly, will it work under Win 95 (I'm soon changing over from WfWG3.11), and is a 32 bit Win 95 version of TM for windows on the horizon? I would appreciate some assistance. Thankyou. I finaly woke up to the fact that my new modem had a Rockwell chip set and that was what was giving me what I belived to be line noise. It's a Smart One from Best Data Products (14.4). I called their BBS and downloaded an RPI driver (WRPI224B.ZIP) and now have V.42bis and MNP. Now with this, what sort of CPS should I expect to see on downloads? It seems to vary from board to board. On some boards I'm getting around 1400-1425 on others it's 1360-1380. I have a 16550 UART, what speed should I set my port to and what speed should I set the modem at? Jerry BTW, the number for Best Data is 1-818-773-9627 but I will upload it here on the HUB in Austin. --- Blue Wave/Max v2.12 * Origin: The HUB * Austin TX * Centex PCUG * 512-346-1852 (1:382/1201) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 177 TELEMATE Ref: CD100008 Date: 08/30/95 From: MIKE JORDAN Time: 02:07pm \/To: SHANE WHITE (Read 7 times) Subj: Telemate for Windows TMW > Hi All, > In a message from Winfred Hu announcing the long > awaited release of > Telemate for Windows, he mentioned that it was > available on the Internet from europa.com as an ftp. > I have tried this site and it is there, but because of > the vast distance between Australia and europa.com, it is taking a very > very long time to download. I was wondering if someone knows of another > site closer to Australia, that I might try to grab this file. Distance doesn't have anything to do with it, Shane, it's the speed of your link. If your provider has a fast link (56k or faster) distance makes no difference. If he only has a 28.8 or slower, then it's going to take a lot longer. I've called sites that were local to me and only got a 9600 transfer rate, while I've called to Europe and gotten T1 speeds. You might check with your provider and see if they have a slow link or have to route through a lot of different people or if it was the time of day... busy times will affect the speed as well. By the way, did it every finish or is it still downloading? ;D Mike --- * Origin: Com-Dat: Home Of M&S Doors-Hillsboro, OR (503)640-0278 (1:105/317) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 177 TELEMATE Ref: CD100009 Date: 08/29/95 From: GORDON VANSCHEIK Time: 04:39pm \/To: HANK LAUGHINGHOUSE (Read 7 times) Subj: Help -=> Quoting Hank Laughinghouse to All <=- HL> Which fonts can I delete from windows without causing problems?
