I have never GV> had trouble with QWk before. BTW, they work fine with Wave Rider. I had some trouble recently with some qwk packets because they were archived with a different version of pkzip than the one I was using. I looked at the qwk mail door on the bbs I got the packet from and changed the option for archiving the packet to the right one for me and Cmpqwk unpacked it without a hitch. Hope this helps you with your packets. * SPITFIRE v3.5 * Database Connections BBS * Supporting dBASE, Clipper, and More! --- Alexi/Mail 2.02b (#12) * Origin: Database Connections BBS * USR DS 16.8 * 713-980-3234 * (1:106/4196) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 177 TELEMATE Ref: C4V00016 Date: 04/25/95 From: DAVID MELLER Time: 02:37pm \/To: JIM SMOOT (Read 9 times) Subj: InterNet WWW Site G'Day Jim JS> And, there it is folks....Telemate on the InterNet!! If I assume that Zmodem is being used, then this has the classical symptom of improper CTS/RTS flow control being employed. Check to make sure that Auto Baud Detect is NOT turned on, and that the COM Port is locked at a rate ABOVE the expected modem connect rate. Hope this helps.... Welp, Thomas .... ya got me; I've been around this stuff for several years now, but never saw a message quite like this one. I'm gonna try to translate it into a lingo that I understand, but if I make a mistake, don't hang me out to dry, Ok? :-)) "various bios" meaning various remarks, perhaps? "graf on each one", meaning a personal profile, maybe? Althought I cannot and will not speak for Winfred on matters that we have not discussed, I think it is fairly safe to say that he will include a certain amount of "Credit Lines" for the Beta folks in the final release documentation; I think this is customary and prudent. However, to what extent or detail he plans on doing this, I cannot say .... simply because I don't know. If this is not the info you seek, Thomas....let me know, and I'll try it again, Ok? :-)) Best Regards, ---- Jim --- GEcho/386 1.11+ * Origin: TELEMATE USA N'atl RegSite, Copperas Cove, TX (1:395/602) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 177 TELEMATE Ref: C4X00000 Date: 04/25/95 From: SAMUEL AUDET Time: 06:50pm \/To: DARR HOAG (Read 9 times) Subj: Re: Winfred's NetMail Add -=> Quoting Darr Hoag to Samuel Audet <=- DH> Winfred.Hu@p4.f602.n395.z1.fidonet.org Wow, this is the kind of Internet address we tend to forget :) Thank you, I'll write it down very carefully!
