I thought that you already had the Enhanced Host files amoung your collection of Telemate Programs? Can I send them via Fidonet, since Texas is a bit far? The Telemate Enhanced Host Ver4h supports Version 4.12 Script. If the New Windows version doesn't differ to greatly from this. Then it will. But this is a factor that only you and Winfred Hu would know at this time. I am not a Windows Person, Sir. I know Telemate pretty good, but not Windows. That is why I haven't offered my service's as part of the Beta Team. *-------------------------------* Your Friend, Ed Kapuscinski 1:2410/297.16 EGGHEAD PLACE BBS *-------------------------------* --- PPoint 1.92 * Origin: *(TME)* First User Friendly Host (1:2410/297.16) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 177 TELEMATE Ref: C4V00009 Date: 04/23/95 From: HAWLEY WARREN Time: 06:43am \/To: NANCY PORTER (Read 9 times) Subj: Egghead's Place Saturday April 22 1995 07:49, Nancy Porter wrote to Hawley Warren: > Is that why Kerry has been so silent in the echo lately? I know this probably isn't in the right conference, but I there are plenty of 'experts' out there that can help me on this... or at least give me an oppinion. I need BBS software... not for me... for work. I need a good quality low-maintence BBS setup that I can set up at work so that my employees can call from home and get onto a net, run DOS programs, and get data files such as documents, spreadsheets, etc. which they can work on at home, and check E-mail. Right now, cost is no factor since I want something top-of-the-line that I won't have to worry about in the future. I would be the Sysop of the board and only those belonging to my unit can get access.. a locked board for WORK only. Security is a main factor... I need to be able to allow only specific processes only.. no high overhead, but capable of expansion. Will a simple HOST program such as Telemate Host or something similar work for this? I d/l'ed the TM4Host program, but haven't been able to get it to work. I'm not sure that it can do what I want it to, but I'm trying. I didn't write the script, but I get errors and can not track them down. Right now I'm working on PC-Anywhere for DOS, PC-Anywhere for Windows, and Central Point Commute as trial attempts... But alas! They are a lot more work than they are worth at the moment. If there are anybody out there with any oppinions, ideas, etc. please let me know. I will welcome any an all suggestions. Oh, BTW, any sources for your suggested solutions also. Thanks a bunch for all helpers! -=- /\/\ajik \/\/ands -=- ... Most people that know how to FTP should know how to transfer files, but a few things to keep in mind: 1. Once you get into the Telemate directory, type the word: bin This puts the transfer into binary mode, which is required for non-text files. 2. get filename This will get you the file requested mget *.* This will get you each file in the directory one at a time after it prompts you for a yes to receive it or no to skip. 3. ls is the same as DIR in DOS 4. Note that case is important, if it is lower case it must be entered in lower case and visa versa with upper case. Also note the forward slashe instead of backslashes. > I thank you Sir for helping me in my efforts in > Distributing the Host that I have written for the Telemate Program. You are welcome Ed.
