In other words, you *can't* cross-post (which is a big plus for database readers). I have posted this question in the OFFLINE echo, and found out there's only about two or three readers available for Linux. What were you using before it? Yes I do. I ran FrontDoor 2.02 & 2.12 before that. In my DOS times I liked the combo FrontDoor & TimEd very much, but it still was DOS. Then Linux came to my house and I switched to ifmail. It was a bit of a pain to get everything working in the beginning, but after ifmail, sendmail and INN where configured properly the fido business becomes an integral part of you're unix environment. You can use any standard mailtool you like, because netmail is just treated as all other email in the system. This way you can read and write fidomail with emacs, netscape (POP3) or just from the commandline with the command 'mail'. For echomail the same story you can use all standard newsreading tools emacs, netscape, tin, etc. directly from the local spool or through NNTP. Well the config is not that big of a problem, I think it's even easier as FrontDoor. I had a lot of probs in the beginning with getting the filepermissions right e.d.
