Perhaps this is a Europe-only distribution, then? SCO Unix Version 4.2 is the -BASE- operating system for SCO OpenServer Release 3 and SCO OpenServer Release 5; however, there was not, to my knowledge, a branded release of -OPENSERVER- that used the Verion 4 designation. Version 4.x refers exclusively to the Unix kernel and non-graphical operating system. As I mentioned, OpenServer Release 3, which was built upon the SCO Unix Release 3.2 Version 4.2 Operating System contains the full Motif Graphical User Interface and a full X11R5 runtime system. I'm quite aware of the history of Unixware, as well as Novell's acquisition of the Unix source code from AT&T and their subsequent sale to SCO. I've been moderator here for about four years, now, IIRC, and I've been 'doing' Unix since before there was a Unix System III. I have been, however, corrected in my unawareness of the availability of SCO Unixware, and at my earliest opportunity will either modify the existing post, or add a separate one for the Unixware offering. lawrence@eforest.houston.tx.us --- * Origin: The Enchanted Forest | Houston, Texas (1:106/8277) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 176 UNIX Ref: E5P00015 Date: 05/18/97 From: MATEUSZ MICKIEWICZ Time: 06:17pm \/To: ERIK WARMELINK (Read 3 times) Subj: What is the most current version of Linu18:17:5805/18/97 At school we are running 1.1 .... bye, Mateusz Mickiewicz --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Frog Hollow Port Moody BC 604-469-0264/0284 (1:153/290) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 176 UNIX Ref: E5P00016 Date: 05/18/97 From: MATEUSZ MICKIEWICZ Time: 06:18pm \/To: ERIK WARMELINK (Read 3 times) Subj: What is the most current version of Linu18:18:3205/18/97 Not a problem.
