DEFINATELY yes. The server is what determines what your client sees, and how it interprets data. Here locally, I can type 'cd h:' to get to my S/2 H: drive, but on my NT system, to do the same thing, I have to type 'cd /h'. It's all in the way the server is configured (and as always, MS has to go their own way, which is COMPLETELY the opposite of the REST of the developers). I prefer the '?:' method, but not all servers support it. There are a lot of other changes as well that will affect it. You ave to get a good robust client, and be sure of what servers you'll be connecting to before you decide what to settle on. It's like buying a car. Not really, except for those non-standard monsters of late. They might have some problems. Most notably the shareware/freeware ones written for Windows95 and WindowsNT. If the server is written in conformance with the RFC specifications, then any client should work exactly the same. lawrence@eforest.houston.tx.us --- * Origin: The Enchanted Forest | Houston, Texas (1:106/8277)
