I have really needed this for quite some time to allow users to get certain files from the unix server without actually getting access to it. Like in 95 for instance, click on Network Neighborhood, and now you can 'see' the unix drive or directory as set by the administrator. Now,...do any of you know of other great utilities like this for unix systems,..?? i.e. Replacement for vi (something comparable to TSE or something,..) something that lets an AIX system map another OS's drives,..... file manager system for unix (like Xtree Gold or the like,.....) or any thing else in these orders of coolness,.... The Unix screen says SCO Unix v/386 release 3.2 From the Santa Cruz Operation Inc. It may be an NCR POS system. The hardware has NCR tags. I need to be able to get their merchandise data (vendors, costs, selling price, description, etc.) off this machine in a format that can be massaged or manipulated into something we can import to Access or to a spreadsheet and then to Access. ASCII would be fine if it is in some sort of uniform order. We don't need the history info, just the basics. The customer hasn't paid for a service contract or updates due to problems with the original vendor (for a number of reasons) and the vendor doesn't seem to care to put themselves out to help. Is there any easy way to do what I need? If not, do any of you know a Unix guru in the Mid-Michigan area who can export the info to something we can use? * OLX 2.2 * Fatal Error: Size of thought exceeds available memory. --- T.A.G. 2.7c Standard * Origin: The Abacus * v.34 * (517)645-0093 * Node 3 (1:159/100) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 176 UNIX Ref: DGC00001 Date: 12/06/96 From: LEE CRUSA Time: 09:56pm \/To: THE GARRISON (Read 4 times) Subj: hello Hi try to start a team on Userper I can play it now!! --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.0GU * Origin: Wayfarer's Inn - 24/7 - (412)821-0552) - CALL NOW!
