I have a ppp connection setup on a sco box. I am able to connect using ppp without any problems. I can ping, telnet and ftp the host machine from the pc just fine. However when I try to go out into the internet through our router I am unable to do so. I cannot even ping the router. I have a feeling that is a route problem but I am unsure where to look for the problem. Thanks in advance for any help. After the backup, a particular file must be printed, but the name of that file depends on the day and month. eg: the file of today is called mut1230.prn, yesterday's file is mut1229.prn. In the shell script I have to assemble the filename but it is based on the day before, so on December 30 morning, the file of December 29 must be printed out. I can figure out the filename with filename=`date +mut%m%d.prn` but this only works for today. How do I know which day it was yesterday? I need something like filename=`date-1 +mut%m%d.prn`. When you install the sendmail from ftp.cs.berkeley.edu, it comes with sample configurations as well as a configuration maker in the form of m4 macros. I've personally built *all* of my sendmail.cf files from the m4 macros... including some complicated header rewriting rules. They should suffice at the very base minimum as a framework on which you can build on. --- DLG Pro v1.7/PDQMail v2.60 * Origin: Mental Vortex / Tucson, AZ / (1:300/311) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 176 UNIX Ref: D1200001 Date: 12/30/95 From: YOUSUF KHAN Time: 06:20pm \/To: DARRELL BOWMAN (Read 10 times) Subj: Linux YK>There are other famous operating systems which don't DB> boot themselves up. >DEC's VMS, which ran on the VAXes, was loaded into memory by an entire >mini-operating system running on a simple processor. >DEC's original Ultrix >Unix was just a shell running under VMS.
