Solaris comes with OpenWindows, but it seems so slow, that I've decided to become a real guru and stick with the command line... But because I like runing command shells in small windows under OS/2, I actually use C-Kermit for OS/2 as a terminal emulator, so I can have a genuine Unix command line on my nice OS/2 Desktop and take advantage of things like cutting and pasting between different sessions :-). Most OS vendors got the "end of BST" date wrong in their timezone configuration files for this year. This seems to have been because the date was brought forward 1 week this year to move us closer to the European changover date. I *think* that from next year onwards the UK DST period will match the European one, though I can't remember where I heard that. I almost said that this lack of changover should not cause any problems as the date would specify which timezone it was in, and that from there you could work out the "real" time whether the timezone shown was a timezone normally used at this time of year or not. However, on 3 systems here at home I see that the "daytime" port does not include the timezone in the date. :( For those syncing time using NTP though, there won't be a problem as NTP works by passing around UTC rather than any flavour of local time.
