DJ> Quite a cope to snatch it away from marvel,dc, & dark horse! I was just talking about this with several stores in town. We are all in agreement that the book would probably have double sales if they would have just made them ongoing series instead of 3 issue mini's. This huge push by every major company to corner the #1 issue market is getting hugely ridiculous. The point was even made today that you made the other day that Hulk will probably NOT see 500. We figure after the new series gets under way within 12 issues Incredible Hulk will start over. Sad! ... I've been thinking of this silly story from Superman #141,1961 all day. It was full of wacky stuff,a really funny, off the wall oddity, that as is reveiled at the end, is just a big April fool tale on the readers! It was reprinted in the mid 60s,I cant remember where, but it was the type of silly stories that made the silver age so much sheer FUN! --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.1d * Origin: The Playhouse TC's Gaming BBS/www.phouse.com/698.3748 (1:282/4059) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 101 COMICS Ref: F4200013 Date: 04/01/98 From: DAVE JANSEN Time: 01:09am \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: Nick Fury I think that its just a matter of time before it's reveiled that Fury DID fake his death, due to the Fury film on the agenda, & that his passing in the slick covered over the edge 2 issue series, was very poorly done.Frankly, Fury did more to unify the 1940s era marvel universe, then even cap & subby did. He was more down to earth.I liked the firsr shield series back in 68-69, but the new one did'nt grab me.Its really a shame that Steranko never returned to the character. He really made Fury his.Lets see if the 2 part agent 13/fury mini series sees him return to the land of the living. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.1d * Origin: The Playhouse TC's Gaming BBS/www.phouse.com/698.3748 (1:282/4059) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 101 COMICS Ref: F4200014 Date: 04/01/98 From: DAVE JANSEN Time: 01:14am \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: Spidy tv finalie You know,I finaly caught the series wrap up,with all the alternative spidys,& at the end, when the powerless spidy says he 's just an actor playing spidy, whos just a fictional character, I thought "Well, I bet that Stan Lee's going to show up at the end, & sure enough, Stan meets spidy, & gets to ride piggy back around town with him. What an ego trip to get on a cartoon show like that!! --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.1d * Origin: The Playhouse TC's Gaming BBS/www.phouse.com/698.3748 (1:282/4059) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 101 COMICS Ref: F4200015 Date: 04/01/98 From: DAVE DREW Time: 02:14am \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: New Batman 'toons Does anybody know how many new episodes of the animated Batman have been aired so far this year?
