Merry Christmas, Happy New Year Happy*.* I'm not dead. I'm not sure when I last posted a message, but I think it was after I moved. Well, we're finally settled into the new house, work has been VERY busy, but seems to be slowing down now. Surprisingly, there's absolutely nothing new. Same job, same computers, same guitars, same dust on the cases of the guitars that haven't been out of their cases since the move in May. I guess I'm getting boring in my old-age. Anyway, I hope to be back, and to download a few times a week. Thanks Rich, for holding/archiving my mail, and not toasting me! Gee, just talking about one made me pick up the Strat for the first time since I escaped from the Krankenhaus. I had hernia surgery on Tuesday, and--like I did after similar surgery in '74--I'm movin' kinda slow. Anyway, you may not have heard of Colin James, whose "I Just Came Back to Say Goodbye" I was just playing. He's a good Canadian Blues-based rocker. Yeah, I know "the Blues had a baby, and they named it Rock 'n' Roll". But the song I just mentioned starts with Colin doing a fine job on a couple of verses of "I've Got Stones in my Passway" on a National, then breaking into electric work when "I Just Came Back.." starts. He's got one of those old red Supro resonator electrics, too; but his main electric sounds like a Strat [I could be totally wrong here]. Anyway, I'm off work for several days, so I can start listening to Johnny Shines's version of "Nobody's Fault but Mine" tomorrow. ___ X WinQwk 2.0b#683 X That cat's something I can't explain --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: The Flying Circus BBS (1:2410/905) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 175 GUITAR Ref: F2H00020 Date: 02/12/98 From: MARK VANSICKLE Time: 01:15am \/To: MARK CARRIG (Read 0 times) Subj: Carl Perkins Also Sprach Mark Carrig: MC>basics that others enjoy, I:E:, good relationships, a MC>family, etc....
