Good deal on the gig / travel... Hired gun is always an eaiser deal, I think... I'm pretty sure Bowzer was playing at one of the Casino's down here (Memphis / Tunica).. Don't know what support act he had, but if ya get in town, drop me a line... Lot's of good BBQ to be had, as well as great deals on stuff in Nashville... --- GEcho 1.11+ * Origin: The Music Room, Memphis TN (901) 452-2134 (1:123/38) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 175 GUITAR Ref: F2E00003 Date: 02/09/98 From: MARK CARRIG Time: 09:39am \/To: RICH LOCKYER (Read 0 times) Subj: Randall amp Just butting in here a bit, hope you don't mind... I have a set of Ruby's in my blackface Bassman. I think they are awfully good.. Bought them on a whim, 'cause the GT's were not in stock, and was quite surprised at both the tone, as well as reliability of them... Ok, here's my question. I have a Fender Blues JR, that's totally killer. Probably about time to re-tube, and I would like to put the Ruby's in it... Question is, how do you bias the Jr ?? --- GEcho 1.11+ * Origin: The Music Room, Memphis TN (901) 452-2134 (1:123/38) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 175 GUITAR Ref: F2E00004 Date: 02/09/98 From: MARK CARRIG Time: 10:19am \/To: JOHN ROOKER (Read 0 times) Subj: Carl Wilson Surfing away, he goes !!! --- GEcho 1.11+ * Origin: The Music Room, Memphis TN (901) 452-2134 (1:123/38) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 175 GUITAR Ref: F2E00005 Date: 02/09/98 From: TOM ENGLE Time: 12:55am \/To: JIM MILLER (Read 0 times) Subj: New Gig Hello Jim! MC> Question is, how do you bias the Jr ?? I'd have to look at it again, but I think it is fixed... major PITA to adjust, and usually not worth the trouble. They're biased cold enough at the factory to where a little variation in the tubes isn't going to cause them to blow up or destroy your tone. You may be able to improve the tone by bumping it up a bit, but at "the edge", you'll have to keep an eye on the bias to make sure it doesn't start to smoke something. C-ya!
