We certainly plan to fix Squish itself (assuming that we can smush the y2k dates into the 2+ packet format, which seems fairly likely). As for the Squish API, we have not decided. Perhaps we will, but since the source is provided, this is also something that others could do. The API isn't exactly a "revenue-generating product" at this point, so the most you could probably expect to get out of me is a set of context diffs. --- * Origin: postscript love {honk} if (1:249/106.1) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 174 MUFFIN (MAXIMUS) Ref: F3300006Date: 02/22/98 From: SCOTT DUDLEY Time: 08:20pm \/To: JIM BROWN (Read 0 times) Subj: Maximus filesystem on NT Server: problem20:20:1802/22/98 BR>> Jim, if I can help you compare copnfigs I would be glad to work BR>> something out. I am happy to see that Maximus runs on at least *one* NT Server system. If you can figure out what the differences are between his set-up and yours, we will have gone a long way towards tracking down this problem. For example, stuff like this: - filesystem type, - workstation OS, - LAN type and protocol stacks loaded will be very helpful to compare. --- * Origin: postscript love {honk} if (1:249/106.1) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 174 MUFFIN (MAXIMUS) Ref: F3300007Date: 02/26/98 From: LARRY RINK Time: 10:56pm \/To: GLENN CHRISTENSEN (Read 0 times) Subj: Paging Sysop GC> echo off GC> copy c:\max\dorinfo1.def c:\lisa GC> cd\lisa lisa.cfg GC> cd\max GC> I really want this. There is one mex program I've found that shows the lfn's correctly, but it wasn't written with lfn's in mind, the screen gets scrambled a little. Anyway, I use it to allow users tag files with longfilenames. You should be able to find it in the MaxFDN as curstag.zip. I was going to write a mex file tagger myself for this purpose but then thought it's not worth the time just to improve the outlook. The problem is that, the Maximus filebase does not support lfn's. Any tagger to support lfn's should read directly from the files.bbs's. I hope that if there will be a next version of Maximus, the filebase will support lfn's. Doruk ... Aw shucks, it was nothin'. :) Thanks. I did play with the menus a lot, trying to make the operation self-evident to novice callers. It's a real challenge to make the purpose of some commands obvious to somebody who's never used a bbs before when you only have 10 characters or so to describe them with. Changed some command names, color-coded, grouped commands, and had some conditionals like that example, or where commands the user doesn't have access to are "greyed out", to entice them into upgrading their access. -Dave --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: WizInfo CBCS Minneapolis 612.721.8859 (1:282/2022)
