My brother was able to gain about 20 percent improvement with it on his 486dx40. It is available by freq with the magic name of SPEED. The board is up 23 hours per day for access. (one hour for mail with no user access). I tried the freq from my brother's home and it worked well. If you have a problem let me know and I'll try to learn the file attach thingy, ok? LE> Adios for now, Hasta La Vista, amigo. (wish I could afford a 486. Kinda makes me envious, and I have to struggle against that ). I had a peer-peer network running on PNW from my bedroom (cold, no TV, but where the BBS sat) to the lounge (warm, TV, need I say more? :-). I used an 8-wire cable, but only 4 wires were used for the actual network. I used another 2 to run an external speaker from the BBS machine to near where I was, so I could hear pages OK. If someone paged, I'd shell, load the other node of the BBS on the local machine, and page them with the internode chat in Maximus.. My YELLREQ.MEC file had instructions there for the user explaining how to access the internode chat and answer my page. Cya.. Yep.. that is true... What you might want to do is read all the messages and then delete the base... Then Silt Max to create it again... That should set the attribs back on the base making sure that all messages to the sysop are private. (Don't forget to make sure that the Style line contains "Pvt" for that area). Hello Larry! Check in the documentation of your sound card to see how you can connect your internal speaker to it. I do not know if it is pos- sible with all sound cards but this is what I did with mine. I have a SB16 sound card. . Cheers! .
