Thanks for replying Scott and ignoring my frustrated banter: SD> Have you tried using a different modem? Yes...I tried hooking up a Supra 2400 that I'm using on an 8-bit computer but I get the same results!!! It's not the modem!!! :( SD> What do you see on the modem's lights when this SD> happens? Is "RD" or "RX" flashing at all? Never noticed or saw anything light up and since I'm on the motherboard serial port right now I'll have to check that when I get a chance to hook it back up to the Digiboard!!! I'll get back to you on that!!! :) SD> Does Maximus work properly if you start it directly in SD> WFC mode, rather than letting the mailer answer the SD> call? Tried that...same problem!!! Everything works great until it tries to load Maximus!!! I transfer Echomail and Files in both Regular & Terminal Modes with my Mailer so....It is obvious that it isn't the modem...It isn't the Digiboard...and it isn't the Fossil (FrontDoor does require one) as everything works great with fantastic speeds to that point!!! The problem ONLY starts when it tries to load Maximus!!! I've tried different Com Ports...Different Modems....And it even works great using the Mailer Intermail!!! I am convinced, as all the Hardware & Software Support People I've talked to, that it is a Maximus problem!!! Do you know how to solve this problem??? I really do like the Maximus BBS Program!!! :( --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: T.A.P.P.S. SD> What happens if you run the software outside of DESQview, using plain DOS? Never tried it without Desqview yet since I'm trying to load it on Node 2 and that would be difficult without a Multitasker!!! I'll give it a try and let you know how it works!!! TC> user only a chance to get 1 letter in per line!!! SD> I should also mention TC> that I've had my ISDN modem hooked up to the TC> Digiboard with Digifossil 2.2 TC> and FrontDoor since last November without any SD> problem on a 3rd node!!! The TC> only problem happens when it tries to load Maximus TC> up in Dos!!! Can you TC> figure this out??? SD> Are you saying that this only happens with one SD> particular modem, and that your two other lines SD> function properly? Line one uses an Internal Supra 28.8 and works fine although (this is my next problem) when a 28.8 user comes in the Mailer reports a 28.8 connect and the batch file the Mailer creates states the the Caller is 28.8 but Maximus ALWAYS reports 28.8 Callers as 14.4 Callers even though their file transfer speed is at the 28.8 rate!!! This is strange because when my second line is hooked up to the Motherboard serial port Maximus always reports the 28.8 as 28.8 even though the loading batch files for both lines are Identical aside from the Port & Node variables!!! A strange problem I haven't even tackled yet!!! The 3rd Node is for the ISDN Data Port and it only has the Mailer loaded for accepting Fido Echomail & InterNet Mail!!! It is on the Digiboard and uses the same Fossil (Digifossil 2.2) and Mailer as the second line does BUT is not set up to load the BBS!!! This setup has been working without ANY problems since last November when I got the ISDN and tried to go Multiline!!! Since Node 3 doesn't load the BBS and Node 1 is on an Internal modem both Nodes work fine except for that problem with the baud speeds on Node 1!!! Line 2 seems to be the problem as it won't load Maximus if I use the Digiboard and if I use my Motherboard Serial Port for Line 2 I get CRC errors like crazy whenever another node is in use... which is why I'm desperate to get it working on the Digiboard!!! I also should apologize to you for jumping the gun and saying you are being silent etc etc!!! I've been deperate & frustrated trying to get this to work since last November and have spent a lot of Dollars on Long Distance charges to Hardware & Software Support people and my Line 2 is on the Motherboard for now giving me constant CRC errors so my impatience is wearing a little thin!!! Your reply seemed like it was taking forever under the circumstances and didn't take into account that you are probably a very busy person!!! Sorry about that!!! --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: T.A.P.P.S.
