If you define the area as an alias area then it automatically inserts the user's alias unless they have not defined one. The Blue Wave door has an option to reset newscan pointers, either by number of days or number of messages. --- timEd/386 1.10+ * Origin: realitycheckBBS - San Francisco, CA +1 415 666 0339 (1:161/418) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 174 MUFFIN (MAXIMUS) Ref: EBK00001Date: 07/13/97 From: KURT WEISKE Time: 09:17am \/To: ALL (Read 1 times) Subj: MsgHurl command problems I have a co-sysop that I'm trying to set up as a message base sysop for me, and want to give him the ability to Hurl messages to different areas. I've given his level (the default Clerk level) the MsgHurl command in MENUS.CTL, but as soon as he tries the Hurl command, he gets the error "Cannot move msg". I tried explicitly setting a MsgOverride in MSGAREA.CTL for two areas, and then tried moving from one to another, and still got the same message. Instead I did my own suppress-converter, simple dos-util which modifies the output. Now it's like: 2000 Doomsday clock ============================================================================ 2 years, 170 days, 14 hours, 20 minutes, and 6 seconds until January 1, 2000 This is the information which users will see. This from the "README.1ST" file in the package: > Beta Win32 version of Maximus > ----------------------------- > > We have now made available a public beta of the Win32 version of > Maximus for Windows NT and Windows 95. But It was developed for and is called Maximus NT (Note the tearline) gary and it works with a 32 bit front end mailer in Windows NT. I think the "for windows 95" in the readme.1st was an add on before the full impact of not being able to run Max NT in Windows 95 was realized. As I recall there is some documention about it and it was a subject of discourse in the Muffin conference when it was first released. In any case, Maximus NT was developed by and for NT which is why it's called Maximus NT not Maxiumus 95, which was the point of the message I was replying to. --- Maximus/NT 3.01b1 * Origin: Cowboy Country USA!
