Is there a way to get the To, From, Subject, Area, and if it's private or not when using an external editor? I want to make a MSGINF file: MSGINF. Format: (curteosy Matt Lyon) Line 1 : From Name Line 2 : To Name Line 3 : Subject Line 4 : Number of messages in the Hudson/JAM Base + 1 Line 5 : Message Area Name Line 6 : Boolean, "YES" or "NO".. I think it's whether the message is Private or not. IceEdit uses that, and i'd like to make up that file.. I've thought about making up a message header entry program in pascal, but then maximus needs to import the MSGTMP still.. So i need something between the header entry, and the external editor to make this.... but the big question is how do i retrieve the info? I suppose i could also make up a mex to do it, then have it jam the info into the message header.. but that's a lot of work since it need to account for weather the area starts in the Pvt flag at the top, or just on the To: line, or if it's sysop access the fact that hte From: can be edited........ thanks.. ttyl, greg --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: * Chaos BBS * 6i3.389.O8i6 * Kingston, ON! Yeah, this is what I figured, too. This reminded me of something I ran into while checking this out, though. Have you had any experience with using Win95's hyper terminal to connect with Max/2? When I try logging in using this setup from my other system, I get color, but no ansi. I get hi asci instead. I've tried a couple of the emulation settings, but no dice. Now, as I recall, back in the ancient DOS days, if one wanted ansi to be enabled when dialing into a system that displayed ansi, that one had to include ansi.sys in their config.sys file. Would you happen to know if I need to do this somehow with Win95? I'm not really concerned about it -- just curious. I haven't tried any standalone comm software for Win95 yet to see if this problem is specific to hyper terminal. Probably won't either.
