It saves you a little space because you archive the text files in ZOO archives and then it extracts the files that the user wants to view. It works surprisingly well. It's fast and small. Source is included. I can't find the original archive on my system...I originally found it on CompuServe. But the author is M. Kimes at 1:380/16 so you can check with him about availability. Sometime this weekend I'll log back on to CIS and see if I can find the OS/2 and DOS versions. L8r, Ron ... You're better off not knowing how sausages & laws are made --- * Origin: River Canyon Rd. I'm using one of the starbar/list type of mex's for selecting the file area's using the cursor key's and it's got 10 pages to go through with all file area's. I want to shorten it down into groups. I've got groups named: IBM, OS/2, Science Fiction, Sharware cdrom's, Hobbs os/2 etc.. and at the moment it's an alfull mess for chosing file area's (though the mex make's it easer), and I want somthing that is better. If JG> you don't know where to get it please tell me the name, thanks in JG> advance. As far as I know, there is NO .mec file editor in existence. You have to do it all by hand (or by conversion). Here's the way I do it: 1) Use TheDraw or another editor that creates ANSI graphic files. 2) Use the ANS2MEC utility (included with Maximus) 3) Modify the .MEC file to add/change/fix up MECCA codes. 4) Compile with MECCA. ANS2MEC will, for example, change [test] to [[test] if you type it in while you're editing your ANSI file. A good suggestion is to NOT type the codes in until step 3 above... Hope this helps...
