My sewing needs are not heavy enough to justify buying one of the expensive ones. When i took sewing in school i got in big trouble because i was too lazy to put in and take out all those pins. Perhaps my complaints are just an excuse. When one is using a complex pattern, it is best to do exactly as instructed. I probably haven't done that a dozen times in my life. I always have to fool with it somehow. A large part of the admonitions aimed at me in my life amounted to: Jean, you have to walk before you can run!!!. I have heard some stories of his navy times, and how much he enjoyed visiting some of the ports. I so far haven't been able to bring myself to start on the tree skirt for the first one yet. When she opened the quilt she got for Christmas, she said thank you and all, but it went immediately to the bedroom even though it was of the size intended for the couch. I had also made Christmas stocksings for her and DH and didn't see those used either. It is hers and I won't tell her how to use it, but it is playing a part in my mind about wanting to make her a tree skirt. Now the other one is not due for a birthday until August and I am sure I can come up with something for her before then.
