If it isn't currentnew baby outfit, it's a Fisherman's Knit sweater for a Christmas gift or mittens for one of her nephews. She knits and watches TV and sometimes reads at the same time. She knits in the car when we go more than a few miles (sorry. it's kilometers here in Canada). I've seen her knit in the car at night, a feat which is likely difficult. No patterns she says, only straight knitting. --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: Attitudes BBS (905)388-5827 Hamilton, Ontario (1:244/314) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 172 CRAFTING Ref: EDQ00000 Date: 09/19/97 From: WANDA GUIN Time: 08:16am \/To: VALERIE MURPHY (Read 0 times) Subj: Re: tub klutz club -=>I distinctly overheard Valerie Murphy say to Wanda Guin<=- Valerie, VM> WG and what our logo should look like. Because of the Fibromyalgia I have, it caused the collogen in my eyes to mess up. Therefore, it caused me to have cataracts in both eyes. Well...I am set up to have surgery on my eyes, and may be able to see without glasses! Or at least maybe just use reading glasses. You have to understand, I've worn glasses for 40 years, and I'm 43 now. I don't remember NOT wearing glasses! My vision now is 20/80 *with* glasses. One eye will be done Oct. 6th, and the other one will be Oct. 17th. I'm so excited!!!! I can't wait to have it done!!!! I got a small drinking glass at a yard sale, possibly a Brandy glass, or something like that. I don't drink, so I don't really know what it is. Anyway, it has a stem, and a large bowl. I put a candle in it, and filled it up with decorating marbles. I had to squeeze in one last marble, which of course broke the glass in one spot. So, being the crafting person that I am, I decopouged (sp) it with 2 beautiful hearts with angels in them. Then I lined the rim of the glass with gold paint. It turned out quite pretty, if I do say so myself! Even my hubby liked it. He usually likes everything I do. :) :) He's wonderful. take care, Wanda ... Would you believe after posting this I read that you could use enamel spray paint. Fill container with water and then spay the paint on top of the water. Don't know that the "drops" would be big enough. Guess it would depend on how close to the water the spray can was held. It would definitely give a different effect. Hi Anne, AM> Checking out the feed connections for this echo. The traffic seems to AM> have died. ??? I'm still here! I've been on a sewing binge the last week or so, getting Rachel ready to join David (she left this morning). Now I have to hem a couple of skirts, finish a lined jumper and do a sleeveless cotton dress for her, all before the movers come next Friday. I made the one skirt (lined) one afternoon, did her jumper to the point of fitting the next day and made a "muslin" of the dress the next. I also replaced 8 squares in the quilt I'd made her 17 years ago (she took that with her) and made new feet for her 17 year old Raggedy Ann. I'm not just sitting around doing nothing (G) as I've also been busy with Sunday School work.
