I finally started working on my caps. Had gotten 6 of them about two years ago and wanted to embellish them with buttons and never got around to it. Started the first one yesterday afternoon worked on it for about 4 hours and still have quite a ways to go. It is really looking nice. I've been accumlating buttons for the last three years to use as embellishments on some of my clothing. I didn't realize it would be this time consuming but I am really enjoying it. The buttons I am using on this cap are all sorts of colors and about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in size. I am stitching them on one by one in unison. I was tempted to add bigger buttons in just to get it done quicker but decided it wouldn't look good. Also have gotten several file drawer(2 and 4) and have been sorting out all my magazines, books, etc and filing them in. That's when I came across the envelope with your name on it. I thought I had sent that to you last year sometime but for some reason it never made it out. Had a friend call me last Friday and told me that an auction had a bunch of fabric sample books, couple boxes full, and he wanted me to be aware of it because I hadn't been going to auctions like I use to and he knew I liked that kind of stuff. He purchased the lot for 4$ for me. Had 40 different books with all sorts of fabric samples. Having a blast with that also. Most of them message 10" X 12" in size, with next 6" X 10" and a few with smaller sizes. Most of fabrics are 100% cotton with a few fancy and all are scotchguard or teflon coated. They came out of the same fabric designer store in Savannah that sold such for folks with expensive tatse to redo there homes with like furniture, draperies, etc. The price range on these materials starts at 9$ a yard to 40$ a yard with most being 28$-40$ a yard. I have all these ideas going thru my head. Spent last Friday night going thru each book and hooing and awwing all the time. I have estimated I have roughly between 1200-1400 pieces of fabrics. Well gotta go will post more later about it.
