I just love opening your gifts.. everyone was teasing me about the tupperware because it was my first real tupperware.. they said I was finally grown up enough to use the real thing. :) It's neat stuff though.. great for my lunches. I really like the soup mug. I make a lot of soups and take them to work for lunch.. and the graters were WAY cool... some people were trying to nip them... I had to take defensive stance.. ;-) I just hope I can find more of the stuff in the black one.. that is a really neat combination of spices.. yummmm yummm.. :) I sucked back the cappacinos real fast. :) The sauce mix looks neat too.. I can't wait to try it. thanks again for the great birthday present... hugz Mary-Anne mwise@imag.net ... Hi Jeannelou, JT > You are most correct, that msg about Sanctuary was intended to be on JT > the local BBS only. If one of my local JT > msgs shows up on crafting, it means that i was careless and didn't jump JT > when i should. I've only been getting FIDO for about a year, and I knew I hadn't seen you on the genealogy echoes. I would imagine it got there by "Sysop error" which happens occassionally. Even here we've had "odd" msgs come across, then found out that a wrong button had been pushed. Just thought I'd let you know what happened to the msg and then you'd know what happened to the answers or lack of. It's frustrating not getting answers when we sent a question. I do have to check my files periodically to see if I have any mail sitting here because I forgot to hit the "special send" key at the proper time. I do an awful lot of mental crafting, while my hands are doing other things. My electric stove has a light in the oven that I can either turn on/off or comes on when I open the door, so you can see whatever is in the oven better. I don't know if any of the gas stoves have this feature on not. The heat generated by the pilot light for the broiler might be enough to use for drying purposes. > DL> I was watching something on HGTV, Willard's Almanac I think. They > DL> said when the orange slices are dry to be sure and seal them. WG > Is this talking about dried slices for food? Seal them how? No! this was for decorating purposes, which is what I thought you were talking about. I didn't even think about the possibility of using them for food, guess that was because I'd never heard of dried orange slices for food. Anyway, I think any water based sealer would work, varnish, polyurethane, c. > DL> I've done flowers including carnations and roses like this. WG > Wow!! That sounds neat! I may have to try this... WG > I am trying to dry orange and apple slices for decorating at Christmas WG > with, not for food. I've seen them in mags, and they looked great. If you slice the apples side to side you will get some that are heart-shaped, and some that are round. If you slice them top to bottom, they will all be round. I am trying to get the blocks done today for the various exchanges here and on Sew and Quilt. I am unable to go outdoors today because my health came crashing down around me last night.... my blood sugars dropped to a dangerous level and it took several hours of sugar injestion to get me going again after I passed out big time... so today I am letting my body recover some and the sewing is the perfect way to continue to be useful when I cannot get out doors on such a lovely day! I hope to have the other two blocks done by later this afternoon if all goes well.... and tomorrow should be a very busy day here as I will share in my next message ... Well my body proved again its power over me when last night my blood sugars all but were non-existant... I felt so bad for Jerry as he did everything possible to get me going again... it took a bit but we felt a lot better when we got my blood sugars up into the 70's again.... So today I am laying low in the house on a beautiful summery day giving the body a chance to get past the shock of last night... I am doing fine really but I promised Jerry I would not take any chances today since things are not at all stable and exertion of energy can compound the problems right now... Sooooo today I am sewing a bit... working on the various exchange obligations I have... I should have them all done by later this afternoon... besides I am going to have to! BECAUSE tomorrow Sandy Colby's husband will be back to complete the walls for my studio!!!!!! Tom began the work yesterday and should have the majority of the work completed tomorrow... and it is looking wonderful!!!!! The cabinets are on order now and I can hardly wait the 4 weeks until they are delivered... but what a mess in the mean time!!!!! It is like moving day all over again in here... boxes and "stuff" everywhere... but it is beginning to take shape now and that is the greatest part of all... I will soon be seeing the end of the tunnel!!!! There are still a few additional things that will need to be done to complete the studio the way I want it to be, but I will get those things done as soon as I get the majority of the work done here... Well I thought I would just give you a quick update here and now it is back to the sewing!!!!
