WB> Don't lose your cool! I will pray for you to get the best place! Well we have our own place at last and have been here for two weeks. It has a new play ground for the kids and a pool so there is plenty to do this summer. It is also not too far from John's work place and about 15 minutes to mine if I take the interstate. So it is working. WB> Boy have you been busy! well that is the way I like my life. Busy and full of stuff to do and complex. I finished my sampler and have it hung on my wall all ready. It sure is nice. WB> I have a jumper cut out and ready to sew, another one almost done WB> and 2 nightgowns done. (thank goodness, it was getting way too WB> warm to sleep in those heavy nightshirts any more!) Well i wish I had some time to sew. I have lots of boxes of fabric and patterns and I am helping with a wedding this week and right now I have nothing to wear, but no time to sew for it. WB> I've also been working at trying to finish some crepe paper poppies WB> for my sister's birthday (still--this pattern isn't as easy as it WB> looked in the magazine!), and I have my everlasting teddy bear 9- WB> patch quilt I'm going to be working on, and working on, until it's WB> done and on the bed. Good to go! Keep at it and it will work for you. I bet you finish it in the near future :) WB> It's a good thing Jana's birthday isn't till July 31st, or I'd be WB> in biiiiig trouble! Same with John's I have to get back at his gift. I am no where near done with it. Take care! I have so much 'stuff', (paint, stencils, yarn, ribbons, patterns, crayons, canvas, etc.), it would be almost impossible to find anything if I boxed it up and moved. It would take me weeks to pack and weeks to unpack. I have so many 'collections' I've long lost count. But when I was growing up, I didn't live in the same place for more than two years. We moved back and forth across the country, from Air Force base to base. I didn't know that people could live just in one place all the time. To stay in just one town all your life sounded dreadful to me, like a prison sentence. We didn't place a high value or priority to physical objects, because they could get lost or damaged in the next move. Being with our family was the most important thing we had. We learned to make friends very quickly, by treating everyone as a friend until they proved otherwise, and knew from the start that we would be parted soon. Life was full of adventure and learning. It was a rich lifestyle, one I would wish everyone could have. Running Windows is better than washing them! You have that right! I used to be a window cleaner! Hehehe, and I am still not thrilled about cleaning my own. Besides, all the spots and smudges are always on the OTHER side! I have all these 5" quilt squares and want to start a biscuit quilt. The problem is I've never finished the teddy bear 9-patch I started first, and I want to finish it too, but needed a break from it. I could do this biscuit quilt while sitting here in my recliner, and on the plane (I'm going on a weekend trip in 2 weeks). Hmmm, maybe I'll start it and see how it goes. You do the blocks one at a time and stuff them individually, then sew them together. It makes each one look really puffy, like a biscuit. Sounds and looks neat! And there isn't much actual quilting involved, you just quilt an X in the center of each one. It would make a great project for me and a nice present for my Tom to curl up in, which he loves to do. :) I think I'm going to go for it and see how it does. LadyBear Hugs, Wendy ... Hi Dot! -=> Quoting Dorothy Ferris to Carol Surzinski <=- DF> living room has become MY room. I mainly live on my couch (eat, sleep DF> and do crafts there). The couch does not fold out to a bed but we have DF> it decked out like one. I have a stand that is couch high at the end DF> by my feet. I rest my table top iron board on it and over to the DF> couch so I can press all my seams. Then up by my head I have a TV DF> tray that has my phone and other goodies on it. Next I have a lap DF> tray with a cutting mat that fits just right for cutting. Then comes DF> the mess.........boxes with fabric, milk crates with books and another DF> box of all my gadgets for quilting, a popcorn tin with all my DF> embroidery (also a great foot rest), 2 bags of yarn for my crochet Hehehe! This sounds a lot like the setup we had with our living room when I had my heel spur surgery! I couldn't crawl onto our waterbed with both feet out of commission (my side is against the wall due to a small bedroom and large bed, so I have to crawl in over the footboard and up to the head of the bed every night to get in!) and anyhow the wheelchair I was stuck in would not go through any doorways except the large open one to our kitchen, so I slept on the couch. It was up on cinder blocks so I could get up off it into the w/c. It was Christmas time...I had the surgery done Dec. 14th. So I had the controls to the tv, and the switch to the Christmas lights on the tree and around the full-length mirrors behind the couch, plus the switch the lamp extension cords were plugged into, on a table beside me. I also had a potty chair beside the Christmas tree! Real classy, let me tell you! hehehe! I wasn't allowed to set feet to the floor for 2 weeks...what a big pain that was! I had crafting patterns and supplies all around me along with two huge pillows to prop my feet up on, and an ice chest full of ice for my ice packs and Pepsi for my addictions, a large Tupperware container of goodies on the end table, and fruit for my breakfast in a bowl on the other end table. I was all set for a long stay! hehe Tom had to work up till Dec. 23rd, then he had taken his vacation time the rest of the year till after New Year's, so that helped as his sister had come to visit and some meals were expected. But I sure did a lot of crafting during that two weeks until the stitches came out, and for the month after that. Then I was busy getting my walking program re-started. What a pain that was! I crocheted two afghans, did a lot of x-stitch things for some family birthdays, and painted a bunch of ceramic items while I was out of commission. A friend took me to the ceramic shop, w/c and all, so I didn't miss ceramics class. It was such fun to get out of this house, even for just a couple of hours! One day she took me to Wal-Mart and a car nearly ran over me in the chair while she was pushing me across to the door. We couldn't believe it! If that person was so blind they couldn't see a 210-lb. woman in a bright green car coat pushing a 250-lb. woman in a hot pink sweatsuit in a wheelchair across the road, they should never have been driving a car! But we sure had a great time in the craft supplies dept. that day. MAN OH MAN! I got some great stuff. I felt like a miner who'd just discovered the Mother Lode! hehe When I could finally drive the stick shift again, I felt like I'd been let out of prison. But my good friend Bernadette sure did a lot to help the time go by faster. I wish for you a friend to do for you what she did for me. LadyBear Hugs, Wendy ...
