It was between me and Doris, but I won this time!! Is this house lucky or are there just not many people playing? Well, I have been thinking and I have decided that I want a 12 1/2" unfinished block. Okay, that was the easy part. I also want the blocks done in purples (any shade) and creams. As for the design, I will take whatever you want to send on that front! My address is: Pat Knox P.O. Box 460 Apison, TN 37302 I won't be waiting by the mailbox because I am going on vacation this coming Friday (June 6th). Will be in Daytona Beach, Florida till June 15th. I will have a luggable with me so I might be able to check messages, but my snailmail will be held for me at the post office till I get back. Hope to see LOTS of squishies in there when I return! That's a real shame! I've enjoyed making the squares, and sending them off to different people. I even just recently bought a softcover book at Wal-Mart by American School of Needlework called 101 Crochet Squares. I wanted to have lots of different types of granny patterns to pick from when a winner's choice called for any pattern. It's hard to believe that only three people sent to Joan, I know that Fido boards have dropped off like crazy but there should still be at least a few more of the past winners that have access. I'm glad that I was able to be one of the winners so that I have squares from alot of very nice Fido Crafting people! Thank you Pat, for coordinating the exchange, I had fun! Thank you, Hey, just start reading and jump in to any message where you feel you have something to say. This is an international echo area, and everyone whose board gets the echo can read/post here--it is not board-specific. The best way to GET mail is to generate it! :-) So tell us what you have been working on lately. I've made some Memorial Day/July 4th door decorations with flocked vinyl bows in the red white and blue tradition. I'm also plodding along at a knitted Revolutionary War flag afghan (begun a couple years ago). I also enjoy rubber stamping, beading, and cross-stitch embroidery, but I've tried just about everything. Some day I'd like to learn how to quilt and also get into miniatures, perhaps making some of those "miniature rooms" I've heard talked about. I'm located in Northeastern CT, and have tried many different crafts over the years. Welcome to the echo! There are a few other crafting echoes available, I don't know if you're interested, but if your sysop doesn't pull them you can always ask him to pick them up if possible. We have CROSS-STITCHING, BEAD_JEWEL, CREATIVE_ARTS (which I moderate, it is devoted to paper crafting and rubber stamping), SEW_&_QUILT. (I may have forgotten something, someone else will jump in if I have). So, welcome, and do tell us about your projects. Cheers! I went to the libarary and picked up several patterns- I have completed my first one for my daughter's kindergarten teacher.I was pretty happy how it came out- but have a few questions.... I tried using a couple of of different objects in combination of the bookmark.I used a bookshelve with books and an apple on the top and then a heart in the middle- I kind of "winged" the writing.I do have a folder of diggerent kinds of alphabets.beause of the size of the piece I used a straight stitch alphabet. My question is how do you "set the pattern" for the writing.I had different sized words(# of letters) in a word.Foe example "I Love you" and I had each word on a different level. How do you center it so that it comes out even? Another queastion that I have is about the back of the bookmark- I did not use knots, but The back is certaintly not pretty! Should I take a piece odf Aida and cut it into the size of the bookstitch and cover the back? How do I connect it- tacky glue or a simple border stitch to connect them? My girlfriend sells them. They start with the cardboard album. Then you use padding and glue material to it. You can embellish it with just about anything.
