I have actually been cleaning house lately and PK> it wore me out! I'll bet, it wears me out too. I had a respite for a couple of days here. I was headed to the 24-hour Wal-Mart super center Wednesday morning at 8 am after dropping Tom off at work, and the Omni died at a 50 MPH intersection, at the light. No one will get out and help you when they're going to work, so I sat there for about 20 minutes till some lady stopped and said she would push me into the parking lot across the intersection. Her friend stopped and helped, and after they got the car all the way across, a cop finally stopped (the sheriff's dept. just went by me, with my hood up even! GRRRR!) and asked did we need some help? GRRRRR again! We just said "Where were you half an hour ago???" He grinned--and left! I knew it wasn't the battery, so I called the dealership and they sent a tow truck and the timing belt was out. They just gave me a lovely Honda Odyssey minivan to drive and called this morning to say it may be fixed by tonight, maybe not. In the meantime they let Phillips out at 2 pm yesterday and they are off today (no pay for my Tom, but what the hey!) so we went to Tulsa and I got to see a lovely place called "The Quilted Bear." It's a huuuuuuge homecrafted and crafts mall and they have all sorts of Victorian and country crafted items for sale, in booths. Different crafters' work and all of it exquisite! Handstamped cards and bookmarks, wooden items beautifully painted, floral arrangements, handmade lamps and pincushions, and loads of teddy bears, rabbits, etc. One booth had stained glass, just lovely. There were dishtowels with crocheted hanger tops, just bookoodles of things. We didn't even get to see half the things, we were so tired by the time we saw what we did! There's an Amish restaurant and food shop in there, too. Didn't get to that as we'd just had dinner. Of course Tom wanted to check out the laptops and notebooks at Circuit City, too. To each his own! I got to drive that lovely van to and from Tulsa so we both enjoyed ourselves a lot. And there were rubber stamps in that one booth and I sure had a great time looking, but they were too expensive and I can get them at a much better price out of the catalogs. Sure was neat to look, though! I also told the car dealership that should they want that almost 9-year-old Omni, I'd make 'em an even trade for that Odyssey! hehehe! I'd never driven a van before, or anything else that size. It's great, turns easily and parks like a dream. Plus it has car doors and not those awful sliding things on it. I WANT ONE! 8-) WB> I'd rather do cybermail...here or in S&Q! PK> Me too. It is addictive and I have had bad withdrawal pains! I'll bet! I know how I felt those 4 months. LadyBear Hugs, Wendy ... Tom and I got to go to Tulsa yesterday and went to this craft booth mall called "The Quilted Bear." Gee, it was such fun but we both got very tired before we saw half of what they had in there. I wanna go back today! DB> I'll let you know, but first I must finish my daughters pillow DB> covers which I have to do since early last fall. I have one here but I had to buy craft batting to make the inside for it because they don't make many rectangular pillow forms. I don't know if I am into this today so maybe next week. Tom has today off (it's Good Friday) and we will probably take the loaner vehicle the dealership loaned us and go do something soon. DB> Also, my son and his fiancee have asked me to do all the DB> flower arranging for their wedding. Yesterday we went to DB> Michaels and picked up all the necessary items. I told them DB> I'd start after easter. That sounds so neat, it's great when they want you to do something for this most important occasion in their lives. It will make their day so much more special knowing you did those flowers. My husband bought some neat stuff called "Acrylic Water" that you can use to keep silk flowers in place in a vase. You mix these 2 components together like you do epoxy glue, and pour them into the vase, and it hardens to a hard gel and keeps the flowers from moving after you've got them in place. I haven't opened it to use any yet but I plan to do a couple of arrangements of handmade artificial flowers, one of crepe paper poppies for my sister's 40th birthday which is in July. She's very special and I know she'll like that! DB> Glad I'm not the only one who gets messy (HG). Rubber stamping We aren't messy, just creative like the tagline says! DB> sounds so interesting but I guess I've got enough on my plate DB> for now and it sure feels good to be needed. Rubber stamping is fun but it can get expensive since it's addictive and buying stamps is part of the addiction. Once you get a few, you always want a lot more, and that gets expensive. I can lay out the bucks for stamps, but I'd rather not get so many that I forget what I have. I do need a few more that aren't bear-oriented, as most of mine have bears on them, and I'd love some more with messages on them. I have "Happy Birthday" but I'd like a nice one that reads "Thinking of You," one for anniversaries and one that just says "Congratulations" which could be used for various things such as graduation, new baby, promotions, etc. I could also get into a nice "Handstamped By..." stamp. I saw one yesterday but it was very small and they wanted almost 7 dollars for it! Gosh!!! In the catalog those are only about 3 to 4 dollars. I could get 2 for that price! See what I mean, though? It all adds up. Have fun with the floral arrangements and let me know how you are doing. Have a great day! LadyBear Hugs, Wendy ... SIL Sandy had a blue flowered wallpaper so her tennies were blue with white laces, and my sister Jana had a white kitchen, but her dishes were Stoneware, white with a black band on them so she had black shoes with white laces.
