The RH> first spool I wound looked crummy; the second one somewhat better. The RH> third I've wound (so far) looks pretty decent. One thing I found out Are these things expensive? I tried Julia's trick but my spool (styrofoam) was a small one -- it was the only styro one I had. It was still up too far to use it for a "plug" inside the cone of thread. The cones are much less expensive to use but I don't want to have to spend ten bucks on an adapter to use them. LadyBear Hugs, Wendy ... Of COURSE beauty's only skin deep! The paint goes on just like regular paint, but it has properties that cause magnets to be attracted to it. The can says that a quart is enough paint to cover a 9' x 11' wall. Best of all, its only a dollar or two more than a quart of good quality regular paint. The last time I tried to buy a good sized white, magnetic board for the office it was a coupla hundred bucks. But with this paint you could frame a 4'x 8'piece of masonite, paint it up and buy a ton of magnets to use on it for well under $50. Just for general information, "seconds" means that we screwed up the client's color, or my finicky self was not happy with the weight of a yarn once it was spun, or it has a glaring spinning error in the skein that makes it "unmachinable" (since we sell only to commercial sweater producers). It is hard enough to lose a child without also having to spend the three days before the funeral madly preparing the guest room for the east coast branch family to stay in. At the time my son had been crafting too....so it took time to sort out his completed projects and in-progress projects, and all that, in addition to my own. --- ViaMAIL!/WC4 v1.30 * Origin: ViaMAIL! - Lightning Fast Mailer for WC4! Here it is already the 10th of March ... and to make things even more dispairing for me I am in the full swing of moving... all my furniture will be moved from here by next Saturday! And I can't even think straight right now... Would it be possible to put the QBE on a hiatas until April for me???? I sure would appreciate it a great deal... I have to be fully moved by April 1st and to look at things right now you would not even think that is possible!!!! Heck Nancy, I can't even remember my new address yet ... talk about fried brain cells!!!! I only found this out yesterday and have been just scurrying around here for the last 24 hours making as many arrangements as possible to get things done. I am sure I will be able to post a block and give the exchange the proper attention by April 1st if that meets with your approval... and since things have been rather slow with the exchanges anyway it sure would give me the chance to catch my breath a bit here.... Please get back to me and let me know... I am going to "try" to take a few minutes tomorrow to just sit here and go through my Fido Mail... this moving stuff is for the birds, especially since it has been so many years since I have even considered it!!! And now it is here upon me!!!! Well it is midnight already and I still have a couple of hours more work to do before I can go to bed for a few hours sleep... then I will be back in full swing first thing in the morning... looking forward to hearing from you... Hello All! Just had to let everyone know (and thank my pal) for the package I received this weekend. Thanks so much for all the goodies. The cinnamon spice potpourri is in a bowl in my living room (high up so the dog doesn't eat it like he tends to), and it is very aromatic. The socks are always wonderful for me as it's cold here in Minnesota, and I wear them all the time. The crocheted piece is wonderful as well, I've always admired crocheting but have never been able to master it. If you made it, you are very good, it's lovely. The magnetic needle cases always come in handy, and I was just looking for mine the other day. I plan on keeping one with each project I have going. The perfumed skin softner is one of my favorite scents, how did you know? And last but certainly not least, the cross stitch fingertip towel. It's the exact color that I recently switched to in my kitchen. So I'm going to find a pattern and stitch it up for me!
