With everything that has been going WA on in my life both physically and emotionally it's been WA hard to do much of anything. Between swollen vocal WA chords and instructions not to sing or talk (I obviously WA still must talk but I do less of it) and tendanitis in WA my wrist and not supposed to type...actually not suppose WA to strain it all which would eliminate everything. I've WA ignored some of the advice because if I didn't do SOMETHING WA I would be a basket case emotionally. WA Now if I could just get over whatever it is that I keep WA getting! I can really relate to what your saying. I've been sick since October and all the antibiotics have made me even sicker. Now I'm being treated for irritable bowel syndrome because of the antibiotics. I've been miserable! I strongly suggest that if you can get some acidopillis PILLS you take them. My doctor told me to eat yogart with the acidophillis in it and I ate it faithfully. It didn't help at all. If I had taken the pills I probably wouldn't be having the problems I'm having now. You can get the pills at any store that sells vitamins. I'm one of those people who is afraid to take medications, but I am so grateful to this one. I probably will take it the rest of my life. The antibiotics kill all the good antibodies and leave us depleted. The acidophillis is the good antibodies and if you have them then your just generally stonger.....and then you can stamp and craft. Wanted to make sure I stayed on topic. It's so frustrating to be housebound because of illness when there is so much to do. Thank God for my card making. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my craft to keep me intersted in life. Take care! I did a winnie the pooh on a sweatshirt and i had my brother-in -law draw it on the mesh and then I out lined it and had no problem but this counted is killing me. I am sort of relaxing. I -> opened my bedroom window and decided to take a chance that spring not too much---just working on the everlasting afghan, trying to find Gail's hardanger booklet, getting Dennis' granny squares in the mail. Geez!! There just isn't enought time or space in my cluttered lil mind!! We are probably going to be moving within the next two months, as my landlord just sold this place and the new landlord is going to raise everyone's rent by a lot! But the closing isn't until the end of March, and the new landlord can't do anything until May anyway. And we plan on being out of here by then. Steve has a new job working at Radio Shack. Seems to like it, but he's only been there one day! Let's see....did I tell you that I just got my driver's license after not having one for 5 years! Yes, I've been practicing, and I can now take the care out by myself and go craft shopping! Funny though...everytime I do that, I seem to bring back something for Steve and not myself! -> give my sister an entire kitchen thingy for Christmas next year. -> You know placemats, towels, magnets, potholders.... I think that And you be sure to let me know if you need any of that stuff...I just found out the Hobby Lobby has all kinds of neat things! -> am sure. Well I gotta run! Have a good week. And you be sure you have a wonderful week yourself!! Did you get the message that has my work number in it??? If ya did, I expect a phone call and SOON!! I was sure I was going to screw up someplace, the instructions said over and over to make sure you were weighing everything correctly, the slightest mistake would ruin the batch! But I did it! My maiden name is Murphy and Murphy's Law has followed me around my whole life. I think I will thank my husband tonight for finally breaking the curse!!! Carolyn, I am going to get these instructions as concise as I can and e-mail them to you. I'll probably do it in sections, so you can do one full step while I'm getting the next step off to you, or you can wait 'til you've received it all to get going. Either way, I have a feeling you will love it, it's amazing! And it makes clean-up alot easier, you are making SOAP, after all! Watch your e-mail! Now that I'v figured out how to outsmart the RH > Pfaff, I'm getting good buttonholes all the time. (G) DL> Will have to get her catalogue and see what I can find. If you do any amount of sewing, you will really like her catalogue. I first started ordering from her when we were in Germany and couldn't get much except by mail order. Even now, almost 5 years after coming back, I still put in a good sized order at least once a year and smaller ones a couple of times a year. I also order from Clothilde but not nearly so much as Nancy's. DL> We were lucky. Crossed both oceans and probably had less that $100.00 DL> damage total. We never even put in a claim. We were very lucky. That was the only move where we had enough damage to put in a claim for. Part of it was due to the fact that there was a major drawdown going on (right after the Gulf War) and delayed moves were being caught up on--so they hired anybody that basically had a strong back. DL> Retired now, and don't anticipate any more moves any time soon. We've got at least 6 more years; Steve started late. But, depending on where he is careerwise, it may be to our advantage to stay in another year or two. We'll decide that later on, as we get closer to the actual date. DL> The fun oversees was trying to find the materials to be able to craft DL> with. Karamursel, Turkey was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out in the boonies DL> and we lived 45 mins from the Base, on dirt roads. Even in the bigger areas (We were in Frankfurt and Berlin.) I had trouble finding certain things. At one point I checked 5 exchanges in the Frankfurt/Wiesbaden area and some of the department stores on the economy for a medium/dark green stretch lace. I finally ended up asking my MIL to mail me some. DL> I don't even know if they had a Hobby Shop. They may have had one but did it have what you were interested in? DL> Trying to find a substitute for styrofoam at the time (1963-1965) was DL> fun. I can imagine! Plus, there's the "get it when you see it or forget it" syndrome. (G) DL> It's one of the reasons I can look at something and find something DL> else to use in its place. Had to learn how to make a lot of DL> substitutions. You really learn how to be creative, don't you? I've been a stitcher for years so fortunately I've been able to find whatever I need in that line without too much trouble. I also picked up some special magazines in German, and Dutch (& I think a few other languages) since most of it is done by graph anyway. I got a sewing magazine; all the patterns are bound into the middle & you just trace off the pieces you need by following the code lines for your size. You also have to add seam allowances and such like. DL> Happy crafting, Soon as I get the wedding sewing done. (G) I cut out one dress the other day. I'm glad it's not till June!
