I must confess that I am not adept at using computers or related technologies and find the feisty neo facism of experienced users like yourself to be amusing and quite boring in one. I seem to have wandered into your little conference by error and would now like to take this opportunity to state that I find the notion of "Computer Viruses" to be quite clever and the action of creating and distributing said nasties to the horror of nerds like yourself rather funny. I DS> have several Amiga users on my BBS, but I can find no evidence of such DS> software available for them. DS> Danny ===================== Yes there are many viruses that affect AMIGA's 680xx chip. There many that attack ATARI-ST's 680xx chip too. One of the more bad ones are the KEY CODE VIRUS = Sits there and waits for a certain word = KEY and executes whatever. It may have allready replicated itself to other files & computers... BUT you won't get any ill effects until it really goes into action with the word - KEY WORD/CODE. There is another one is much like tose MACRO virus's out there that will mess up the video display, change words on the screen for different days/months of the year, AND even slow down the computer using 1/2 ofthe clock cycles. IE 100 /2 = 50/2 = 25/2 = ?/2 = ?/2 = etc. and eventually you either kill this bug/virus or live with a slowing down effect on the computer. Because there are not as many viruses for the ATARI & AMIGA computers, you won't see many virus killers out there. You may have to call a local AMIGA bbs or attend an AMIGA educational seminar(USER GROUP) & ask someone there to help you keep your AMIGA clean of any viruses. There are apx 6 virus cleaners out there for the ATARI computer. SO the AMIGA might not be too much the better for getting TONS of virus killing software... BUT it's out there. You just have to know where to find it. ... ERROR: Unable to find COMMADORE!
