Yak Man goes Dutch? Recent admirers of Jeff Minters web page will have heard him babble endlessly on about a mysterious 'Project X' involving him on the software side, and Richard Miller, the former Jaguar console designer with the hardware. Latest unconfirmed reports suggest it has something to do with the giant Dutch electronics group Philips (of RGB monitor fame, one of their products from the late 'eighties is still giving me good service right this minute!) This is a tad worrying, as Philips have always tended to be on the losing side with regard to the computer games entertainment side of things. Memory recalls a console in the very early days alongside the Atari VCS golden oldie that withered into obscurity, and who can forget the Philips CD-movie player thing of more recent times. Well I have. We hope 'Project X' has better luck, but on that sort of track record.. Until next time, seeyaall!! CiH, and others, 1998 From Maggie 25 ...
