SI> I really don't see what the hype is about. IMHO It looks like Maio SI> 64 with different story, charcters, and world. The graphics still SI> look colorful and lack detail. I think the reason why it has so much SI> hype is because it's a Zelda game. It's the first N64 game with true SI> lighting and biggest N64 cart. Seriously, I'm not impressed. It SI> might have to play the game before I actually make real comments, but SI> these are my opions so far. Write me. First of all it helps to get a movie and see the battle sequence... It looks incredible.. also the graphics are still a liitle colorful, but thats mostly in the overworld in daylight, beside most everything will be heavily textured (have you seen the screenshot of links village? Its just AWESOME).. and a little color isnt bad... its not like we want the game look like the walls in the original quake. Mario is WAY different.. 1. Mario is a platform, Zelda is an RPG/action 2. Mario kills things by jumping on their heads, Link kills things by using a sword and a variety of different weapons 3. Zelda holds true to the RPG genre by having you talk to characters to find out information, collect items, use them appropriately Zelda has so much realism its amazing... the graphic effects are awesome, they have lightning effx, and daylight control into night etc... There are more textures than any other n64 game.. and all the extras are cool... The map is HUGE, you can ride horses, theres the part where you start off as a kid and then in the next part, youve grown up and can use bigger weapons... the battle scenes are GREAT.. i saw a video, and from what ive seen the control is seamless. In MArio there was a ton of camera orientation problems... there are absolutely none in Zelda... And the part Ive always liked RPG/action games is beacuse the battles arent boring turn based sequences... Zelda tests your true fighting skills and lets you fight in real time... And battles never looked so good... you go into battle mode and you circle your opponent weaving in and out and timing your attacks... Link has a bunch of moves while fighting too... he can do a backflip to get out of a sticky situation, roll underneath the path of a sword coming his way, raise his shield to advoid getting fried by the flames of a dragon. The map is huge and diverse... the upperworld has lush scenery, beautiful landscapes and the nice thing about Zelda is you can see objects right to the horizon... no foggy effects like in turok to mask the short visibility range. The underworld is dank and gloomy there is so much realism here my message couldnt possibly begin to describe it -veed -*- TurboEDIT v1.60a+ [MSP96] --- Ezycom V1.48g0 01fa0167 * Origin: Milky Way, Langley, BC [604] 532-4367 (1:153/307) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 170 VIDEO GAMES Ref: F2A00042 Date: 02/05/98 From: SAM EVANS Time: 08:41pm \/To: JONATHAN FINGAS (Read 0 times) Subj: Rise of the Robots... ecch! 20:41:0002/05/98 it was a good old game poor thing :) --- QScan/PCB v1.19b / 01-0462 * Origin: Christian Fellowship | Audubon, NJ 609-546-6404 (1:266/512)
